Meh, the tax eBay charges just kills the price (just keep telling this to yourself so you don’t feel bad).

If you can demo this set before purchase please do. It’s a lot of cash to make a mistake with. Mine are gone. I turned em over for some new QDC and another set.

Nah, got the FUSION cuz I wanna try a QDC Hybrid and also got the FINAL B1 which seems like the FINAL Audio tuning I may truly dig.

I’d love a detail monster for my female based library…Japanese tuning does this

PS…coming from a guy that’s listening to EDM on my Vega’s right now :joy:

I do enjoy stuff that has a bit of a bright tuning for Kpop, its really nice with my SSR

I’m kinda old skool audiophile some times when it comes to mid’s and treble…

I recently heard a canal works CW-U73LV that excelled with female vocals so I’d also give stuff from them a look (at least their 7 series, not 3 series, I hear they are pretty differently tuned and technically performing), but the a8000 is also very good at this as well

I also heard an acoustune HS1697Ti which I also enjoyed for female vocals but they weren’t as special as the canalworks in this regard, also a step below technicality wise, but still enjoyable (main only weakness was stage accuracy, placement, and depth, but wide at least)

Catchy name and great that we live on a canal but sold out :slightly_frowning_face:

They are not easy to get outside of japan so you might have to order from them and import if you were interested

@Ohmboy An interesting thing about it’s signature is that it’s actually got fairly good subbass and bass prominence, so it has that more japanese tuning that tends to highlight female vocals, guitars/other solo instruments in that range, and airiness and spaciousness but has some meat on the bone and can slam when it needs to, really nice because of that imo

Impressions of them that I’ve wrote elsewhere

“Pretty interesting, generally is very well balanced, not neutral but pretty balanced, perhaps only really dipped in lower midrange. Bass and subbass is impressive, pretty punchy and very textured and layered, no bleed whatsoever, really stand out, more prominence than I would have expected too. Another stand out area is specially the upper midrange where there’s a stronger emphasis (common in japanese iems imo) that really highlight guitar, acoustic stuff, and female vocals, really makes them pop and shine, a bit too much prominence for me given the dip in lower midrange for some music, but if you listen to a lot of japanese music this is great. Treble wise it’s fairly linear and well extended overall, great resolution and detail, not harsh at all, and presented very well to give you lots of information without being overstated. Dynamically very alive and energetic, stage is larger than average with good depth but doesn’t draw attention, timbre is very nice, reasonable smoothness, very fast and quick, very nice coherency. On the neutral side of things for density. This is a bit of a specialist iem but with the right music it’s really really good lol”

:open_mouth:

this is key to me too :+1:

This tuning appears to be rather popular. Considering how much I admire the A8000, I may need to pay similarly tuned IEMs closer attention.
