šŸ”· Flux FA-10/FA-10 Pro

Yes, I’ve heard the balanced reference, it’s pretty solid, I think it’s an impactful and fun amp, generally pretty good overall, although the dac inside there is meh for the price (I actually mentioned it in comparison to the flux in my thoughts on the fa10)

Well this would be a nice solution since it removes the DAC out of the equation then. Thx

I’ve been reading interesting results from modding the FA-10. I probably will buy the FA-10 next year. I will give an update if I bought it and got the mod.

Ksroata (spl on his name) quoted me $400 for the mods but he may have a bit of a backlist for it. The users who had it say it really improved the flux performance keeping it’s musicality but improving the resolution way beyond the Burson Soloist 3XP.

Reach out to slim if you want a bit more feedback.

I already contacted ksorota and he quoted me at $425. The price is subject to change, depending on the pricing for the components and his time. I think it’s getting to an interesting territory since now it’s competing in the $1100 to $1300 area. I probably will wait for volot to come out and see whether it’s better to buy volot or a modded FA-10 (although volot probably will be at around 2k)

I think it’s easier for you to order Pro version and not make any upgrades for regular FA10. The Pro should provide the best performance out of the box.

I saw from the rebelamp thread that you are getting the pro version. I’m curious on how it differ from the regular version.

Flux labs told me that the Pro version has higher resolution throughout the range. I didn’t want a dominant bass like а Rebelamp because its quality is not so high and it sounds muddy. The regular FA10 didn’t have as much bass as the rebel, but high-frequency range was noticeably smoothed out. This sound setting is quite musical and I understand people choosing the regular version, but I want amplifier to be technically more perfect and neutral.

I have a similar sound preference to you, but seeing there’s almost no review for the pro version makes me hesitant to buy it. I’ll wait for your impression/review on it.

I think many people don’t buy the Pro version because of the name - PRO. But I looked at other flux products and they seem to be exclusively for audiophiles and not for professional use. When the amplifier arrives, I’ll write a few words.

Better picture… my god it’s a thing of beauty!

i’d love to know too, I own a VC and am looking at getting a pair of Auteurs

So, looking at Zeos’ setup I think he sold both amps unless I they were simply loaners, or he has them elsewhere in his house. I went to look at their site and it appears that they don’t offer the color options anymore, then again everything is back ordered. I guess they took off and can’t keep up with production>

You can contact them through their customer service or their Facebook (they respond surprisingly quick through Facebook) to get a custom colour faceplate. And yea, lately they have a lot on their hands, plus the difficulties caused by the pandemic. So, if you order, it will take some time.

Good to know, which did you order? :stuck_out_tongue:

Haven’t ordered yet, still waiting for reviews on volot. Got so much hope for it, but I’m afraid it doesn’t deliver.

I googled Volot and random stuff showed up. What is their site and which amp?
