Someone I know has been trying to restore a vintage piano. Recently they gave up. Here’s how they informed me:

"After a few months of tinkering and even getting a computer program to record every key and build a tuning profile, then individually tuning 70 some strings before giving up (there are around 230 strings in a piano), I finally figured out how to tune this piano.

they’re more complementary than anything: the second one deals with big chunks the 1st one can’t handle, but the 2nd one only treats eatable stuff.
