We have some really decent talent mostly concentrated In Toronto but most really just ride the wave rather than innovate
Yep. Live in Toronto and even then most folks who just do live venues at bars are some version of tragically hip or rheostatics
Lol I don’t know what happened to this thread.
Anyways…
@anon54878099 Yeah that song with Katy Perry is from an album made by P.O.D. (another band with christians in it that gets labeled as ‘christian’ jjat because they talk about it in their music) called ‘Testify’. The album was 2006, the music video is 2009. Those were the days that most of my music that I like came from.
I think I appreciate the fringes of rap and hip hop more than the mainstream. Tyler, chance, mf doom. British hip hop etc. More interesting stuff out on the edge
Same but I recently started having alot of fun with more mainstream stuff
Oooooooh! Well interesting either way that she collaborated with rock! Never knew fhat
Katie Perry is an artist - we need more of her
Uhh an another one, not sure what the hell is the genre she is trying to convey here but one of the so called “singers” I don’t like is Yoko Ono. Like, wtf are you even doing?! I am not sure if that is singing or cat being castrated with no anesthesia at all! Ffs woman, I don’t even know why John Lennon married you in the first place!
Damn bro I like post malone lol.
I like Post Malone as a person and the dude is a legit rockstar and his music tastes are on point with mine. But, when it comes to his own music I am not really a fan but I think he has reasons on going for hip hop music instead of rock, since with hip hop you tend to gain more traction and of course get all the money you want.
I love his track Rockstar. That one’s pretty sick. Besides that I don’t dig his stuff I also like him as a person. Seems like a cool guy
I like him a lot but have you heard his music thats just more softcore rock than hip hop? they are done pretty well.
I have not actually, but it seems to be cool of him to branch out from hip hop/rap
I wouldn’t even call him a rapper he has a completely different style of his own which is amid of hip hop, r and b, regae, modern pop, and rock making a wierd fusion of his music
He got his whole family and his followers to harass a journalist that gave him a bad write up. That’s not cool in my books.
Now that is a music that I can listen to.
Yeah that isn’t cool, but no one’s perfect after all.
Barenaked Ladies are always a good thing!
As to post Malone , his popular tracks (the only ones I’ve heard) are sort of catchy, but they all sound like 80’s pop/soft-rock to me. Hardly the hardcore image he projects.
