šŸ”· Geshelli Labs J2

I got the 2/64 but honestly I don’t love it. It’s gonna hit the chopping block for the same reason Patswalker mentioned above, I’d rather have a decent dac on most of my chains than one really good one.

Definitely worth the time…yours AND his!

@WaveTheory Since you found the J2S to be sensitive to USB noise, wouldn’t most users be better off spending $50 for an USB to toslink adapter if needed?

I haven’t used such a thing so I can’t comment on sound quality. There’s a good chance that such a solution would eliminate ground loop noise, though. You’d also lose the ability to play DSD natively, if that matters to you (or anyone).

Just bought a second Geshelli J2 so I can play with some op amps , Burson is sending me some V6 vivid with adapters to fit these things in laying down.

I also ordered some Sparkos as well

Sherri is amazing to deal with the best customer service anywhere!

Curios about your feedback on the J2S with Burson Vivid. I previously owned them and put them in a Emotiva XDA-2 (AKM chip) socketed RCA output section. Unfortunately the Burson opamps pulled a little too much current from XDA-2 since while socketed, it really wasn’t designed for rolling. It did work great with TI opamps with huge improvements over factory. I’ve been using a BF2/64 for more than a year and fine with it. But if I can find a good (enough) DAC implementation with socketed output section I think the opamp flexibility is potentially a better solution than the BF2 so you can tweak to taste. Opamps IMHO have bigger impact on the performance than anything else, if the core implementation being sufficient. The BF2/64 JFET output section not withstanding is still VERY good.

Did you end up getting a lps? Was looking into getting one for my J2

Just got a Filo PL50 for mine works great 12 v 3a and swichable to 15 v 2a and has the correct connector been putting it through it’s paces tonight very happy…
not silly money either

Sorry thats FiiO PL 50…

Can you tell a sound difference? Looking into getting a lps. I have the j2 as well and have been thinking about getting one for a while now

I have not had my current set up for very long so don’t know it well enough to make a
sensible comment on that so really i got the power supply for piece of mind .
If i did not buy one i would be sitting here thinking could i get a little bit more out of the JS2 , i have the AK 4493 one which sounds great but would like a JS2 socketed but being in England it would be costly…
If you are looking for a lps the FiiO is only about 135 pounds or dollars on Amazon
so worth a try …

I’ve had these for a long while. 1 is ESS & 1 is AKM. My reason for them not being opened yet is Bluetooth LDAC via Samsung S23 & an ifi Zen Blue V2.

I’ve got an Xduoo TA26, Singxer SA1 & Topping A70 Pro & 2 of each. I’ve got a Mac Mini that I could use, again, to stream movies & music with, but I’ve got small town internet issues since moving well out of OKC.

I had a thought just yesterday in fact. Geshelli Labs should start offering wireless connections to their DACS, built in.
