Good Dac For Kanto Tuk?

Hi all, i am currently running my speakers from my pc and i feel as tho it isnt doing my speakers justice, what would be a good dac to go with these? thanks

Does it not have usb/optical in? The internal DAC should be more than enough.

yes it does, but if i run it thru usb i cant have my sub going aswell which is a big killer

Isn’t there also a sub out on the TUK? One of it’s selling features is the active crossover.

yea but ive got an older sub cant even find out what it is thats how old haha and it doesnt work with the sub out for some reason

That’s really odd. It sounds like maybe spending money on a new sub would be a smarter decision lol

yea it would be, but the only problem i have is that i live in nz and for some reason nobody stocks any decent subs that arent like 10s of thousands of dollars, and amazon dosent ship subs to nz either

Could you post a picture of the back of the sub? What exact issue are you having with it and the TUK’s sub out?

when i plug it into the sub out it just does a constant bass noise

If you have another amp (for like headphones even), plug the tuk sub out into it and see if the same thing happens. Sounds like it might be a bad connection or cable. Worst case is its the TUKs fault.

or single rca to dual rca ? to go from the sub out on the tuk to the sub?

I’ve got that, what should I plug into it?

take any rca and plug it into the tuk sub out and into either channel input on the back of the amp and see if your headphones are making that bass buzz or not (turn down volume first lol). You’re just trying to replicate the problem on something else to see what the culprit is.

I plugged it i to the Input one and It makes the noise

Do you have a different cable? Also make sure its properly inserted on both ends. Sounds like a ground issue or a bad cable.

I’ll try the cable that came with speakers

Still makes noise

Then it sounds like the speakers are faulty. I’d take that up with Kanto. Clearly not the sub’s fault here. Lol probably not what you were expecting with this thread but I think it’s redundant to spend money on something you already paid more for in the product you wanted to use it with. Hope it was some help.

Or you could just try what the manual says.
“Connect only one input” not both.
