Got a pop sound in one speaker when connecting with 3.5mm Jack

Hi!

Im new to hi-fi headphones and i just wonder about one thing.

When one Connect with jack it comes crackling noise and thats not harmfull and normal i think, but yesterday i connected a jack into B&O beoplay 3gen headphones, that have a single jack cable if one does not want to use it with Bluetooth.

I didnt knew i had not fully connected it, so i had only sound in one of the speakers.

When i rotated the jack the sound changed from one to the other speaker, and when i fully connected it all the way in i got some kinda one single pop sound in right speaker, anyone know what that is? Could it be something wrong, or is it normal?

Thanks for Feedbacks on this

3.5mm jacks can short out during plugging or unplugging causing pops. Should be allright.

I would advise to always turn down the volume on the device you plug into and the device sending through the cable.

Yes good advice, i had low volume, is that ok or should one have zero volume when connecting?
