Guys, I got scammed

Today, this date of May 12, 2025 or May 11, 2025 depending on your time zone, I messed up big time and this is due to me being all excited and super stoked getting a new set of IEMs from the Marketplace which is the Mega5EST, for I demoed back in Saturday and in fact I enjoyed it. I am not sure if I should post all of the images here but if I am not allowed, please do tell me for I will delete them for I am also planning to share this to you guys

To keep it short, a supposed seller messaged me that she has that set of IEMs, provided pictures and due to me not thinking right at that time due to my excitement and being assured that I will have a new IEMs, just go along with the transaction and gave her some cash of 358USD, while she supposedly “booked” a rider for that rider to deliver the item. And this asshole of a fucking rider had the audacity of him asking him some funds for his motorcycle repair for he apparently got into an accident, and me being an idiot, helped him by offering him some cash for his repairs. Also the one I covered with the brushes was my aunt and she was calling me after on what happened today, and yes she has already reported these fucking assholes.

I don’t know what to do anymore after this guys, I feel so sick of myself for I just fell into this elaborate scam, and I am not even kidding, for I wish I was kidding instead but this stings me a lot, all of that money of 400USD total, down the fucking drain thanks to me being all gullible, stupid and not vigilant to see that this is too good to be true and I regret this overall. I should’ve had waited more, and should’ve had remained more patient, and I could’ve had just bought a cheaper set from FeiguAudio instead of buying one from the Marketplace.

This is a hard lesson for me and yeah it still hurts, I have no choice but to save up again and just buy this one from a store instead. So yeah, I just wanted to let this all out, for I don’t want to fall into the same situation as me.

Is there no other used market you can buy from? Like local ones or Ebay which should have a lot better protection than Facebook which IMO i dont trust at all…

It’s really bad, sorry about that. If you want something that might cheer you up, the Tanchjim Ola I just got has close tuning to it for a lot less. They’re neutral slightly bright, but so good they’re my new daily driver IEM. Very easy to drive really affordable.

Very unfortunate, but this is also a learning experience. As painful as it may be, don’t dwell on it, just learn from it and move on. I am with @Rikudou_Goku in that I really only trust people here, through eBay or Reddit’s r/AVexchange as there are extra layers of protection ‘just in case’ if you are dealing with someone that you have never had a trade with before.

yep, I would add head-fi there as well.

I would stick to using Paypal as well for another layer of protection, especially if you dont know the guy. Although if @K4sh1ma paid with card, maybe you can go through your bank to get it refunded?

Yeah, I should’ve had remained caution during that time for I wasn’t at the right amount of sleep to even think straight. And it pains me still.

I already reported it to my bank and I hope they can provide some solution with it, then again this is was my undoing and I wanna slap myself hard for being so dumb.

Yeah, I think it would have made more sense for me to just get a cheaper set for now, for I really cannot look for an upgrade from the Volume S and Pilgrims after all. Hell, I might’ve had settled with the BGVP NS10 Pro instead to hear what is it all about and that one is much more cheaper than the Mega5EST.

Man it sucks though, for I demoed them and I love the sounds. I really cannot get back those amount of money that easily and I have to restart again.

I wish I can do some transactions there with feeling assured that I will get the item. But man, it’s really tough for me due to what transpired for me today. It’s not helping me when I am not even from the States, for I am living from a different part of the world that is like far from it. A bitter pill to swallow for me and I think after this, I might as well not do online buying and selling anymore.
