The demo that worked the best while I was at SoCal canjam was the underground library scene from Oblivion (2013) with Tom Cruise. I threw that on loop with my laptop and the IFI hipdac 3 with x bass. Told everybody this was the bass boosted version but man did their eyes light up. Truly a replacement for a home theater.
Another example of what happens when the Pads are not fully broken in. People call them muddy. I might have to do instructions on how to artificially abuse them to perfection.
From now on, all sets I send out by hand will be full broken-in and pads abused for sure. I canāt rely on people doing their 3 weeks of work to get these into 100% rock-n-roll status.
Wear them for a few minutes and ignore the graphs. Give them break in time and smush those pads for 5 min or so for best results. If you want a headphone that sounds like an IEM this your baby. The comfort is top notch , the 4.4mm cable is actually nice. The pairing with the Schiit Syn might be the GOAT. The adjustable soundstage and presence knob on the Syn combined with the IEM sound of the ERIS is amazing. ( you will need a 1/4 to 4.4mm adapter though. the DDhifi one from Amazon is what I use.) I appreciate a tuning that departs from the same imperfect harmon curve with not enough bass. Be warned this headphone is a Bass monster and departs from the standard sound of most headphones. If you want a flat harmon curve get the Hifiman Sundara or better yet a DMS Omega.
Hi all, I didnāt have a hifiguides account but I made one so I could post my review on Zās behest. If you have any questions feel free to pm me although Iād answer quicker in his free telegram chat
Man what a crazy ride, glad you hung in there to get what you wanted ā¦I see a lot of collabās especially with IEMs that donāt have the intended tuning that the named āinfluencer/collaberā intended when itās finally releasedā¦been a few of themā¦
on sale for $240 if you have amazon prime
Does anyone have both the zeos eris and the Cambridge Audio Melomania P100? How do they compare? Looking for any input with these two headphones.
Ive never even heard of this before. It is also a Wireless headset so I am not sure if it is a fair comparison. I know Eris will have more and better bass. Almost guaranteed.
I think the tuning might have been tweaked a little on the Eris in the new batch (or could be unit variation). I tried my friendās Eris (S/N# 0155) a lot before buying my eris and out the box his sounded really not that good, trebles were super sharp but sounded a lot better and good after breaking in for about 40+ hours. My unit (in the s/n 1100s) had more upper mids and better treble out the box. Even after 2 week of use and breaking in it still feels like there are more upper mids and less harsh treble than my friends Eris.
Iāve had pretty good consistency with the units. My latest 20 that went for sale at SoCal were SN900+ units. Plus if you donāt have your friends right next to yours its going on memory. If the opportunity arises. You should side by side them for SCIENCE. Then try swapping pads and doing more SCIENCE.
Either way glad you like your set.
Just need a 6xx, modded and then EQād and you can forget Eris. Sorry for wasting everyoneās time
If only there was some kind of phrasing on the box, or mention somewhere in the marketing material, to indicate that you might not enjoy these if you prefer a more neutral level of bass.
No worries, @ZeosPantera. There is not a product out there that will please everyone. Iād say that overall your headphone is a pretty big hit.
Yes, exactly, better to ignore the trolls and haters. Considering Z just went at this with no formal training and itās his first time tuning headphones (BY EAR!), this first major effort went really well. He had a goal of making a fun/unique headphone at an affordable price, on top of making them extremely comfortable, closed-back, easy to drive, AND they come with a REALLY nice cable (and lets be honest, some cable makers would charge $250 alone for a similar quality cable). He COULD have played it super safe with the tuning too, but didnāt, and it still came out successful. Even if itās not everyoneās ācup of teaā (and no headphone is) itās a resounding success, IMO.
I hate this kind of questions, but I have to tryā¦
Does anyone how the Eris compare to the Campfire Cascade?
The Cascade are considered basshead headphones.
I love them. Resolve also hates the Cascade, soā¦ If he hates the Eris maybe I would like the Erisā¦ Logic unmatchedā¦ Hehe
I have got used to the Campfire, but at the beginning they felt very uncomfortable.
I also have the Argon Mod house MkIII and the Fostex Ebonyā¦ So I donāt know if the Eris would be just more of the same or it could bring something different to the collection.
Any help is appreciated
I have a Cascade that literally sits in the closet. For me Eris is more fun.
Canāt speak to the Campfire Cascade, but I have the Argon MK2 and Fostex X00 Ebony. Eris is on a different level for bass quantity. The Argon and the X00 are also amazing sets for bass lovers. They both have a very unique bass quality you just canāt find on other sets regardless of EQ. Eris is a significant step above both in bass quantity, and it remains very high-quality bass at the price point. However, at that boosted level of bass, I just find the Eris comes across as cleaner in that region at that higher quantity.
In summary, itās a worthy addition to a bass loverās collection even if you own those other bassy sets. Itās different enough.
