Would that work if make the headamp a and monitors later b and use the headamps knob as “gain” or hard limit?

Only if you don’t intend to use monitors and headphone amp at the same time.
Anyone have experince with Musical Fidelity amps? I am unable to find even a basic spec sheet but they are around my budget. The lx2-hpa looks nice but not mutch info floating around about it.
On an other note how come i pay more for german made amps than ppl in the US?
Only a bit, don’t forget American prices are usually without VAT while in Europe (in The Netherlands at least, and I take it in most of western Europe) prices are usually displayed including VAT. This is, I believe, because in America the VAT differs between states.
