Headphone recommendation for gaming

Hi, i’m currently using the DT770 Pro 250 ohm with a roland rubix22. After almost 6 years with them i want to get something better, closed or open. I don’t need mic and my budget is around 200-250€. I heard good things about hd560s, tygr 300, dt880, dt 900 pro x, but i can’t decide. I want them exclusively for gaming, not music. I mainly play FPS like valorant, tarkov, hunt, and some singleplayer games. What do you recommend me?

Yo welcome to HFGF  I’m not a gamer but I’ve read most things here on this forum and if I recall correctly then a Beyer T1 2nd gen is rec’ed above most for those games.

Yep probably the best way to find them is either on Head-fi’s classified or on Ebay…kind of a waiting game tbh, excuse the pun

T1 2nd gen is a upgraded 300R/DT880 can find them for around $400 once in a while, might be a bit out of your budget so maybe look at trying 880/300R.
Sundara is a pretty good planar alternative for just gaming.
560s was good but the price has gone up so much I don’t think it’s worth unless you can find a good deal (used to find them new for $100 now more like $200)

I found 560s for 139$, 300R for 159$ and DT880 Pro for 180$. Which one would you choose? I have read that 880 have different versions and i don’t know the differences between them

if you play those shooters somewhat competitively I’d go 300R, if more for fun 560s, there not much difference between 880 and the 300R.
different 880 versions should just be the different impedance ratings (lower is easier to run but with certain amps people say the higher ones sound better/ can run off of tubes better)

880 pro is the coiled cable with the tighter clamping headband and has a slightly different colored cup and only comes in 250ohm iirc. for gaming you want the looser headband that comes on the “edition” models or the gaming branded ones like the MMX300/300r, the pro headbands have to be very broken in to get to the stock level of clamp on those.

I’d say 560s or 300r, personally leaning toward to the 300r since I have them and reach for them over more capable headphones regularly because of how comfortable they are to use for extended periods.

One consideration to think about is pad replacement. Since Sonova acquired Sennheiser getting first party pads has gotten more difficult while finding first party and quality third party pads for beyerdynamics is far easier.

Thanks to all for the recommendations, I will probably go for the 300r
