Headphone Suggestions for Hip Hop, Pop, Rock, and movies

Hello Everyone,

I am just getting into the world of audio and I never knew how big and vast the selection of audio equipment was. I have been rocking hd 58x for the past two years with some yaxi pads and I’ve liked them a lot for general use, but I always feel like something was lacking. I always feel like when it came to bass or female vocals in music, I would think “this is good but I feel like it could use a little more”. I am currently looking at a budget of $500 max, or save and buy later. I’ll be honest most of my research is made solely around Zeos, DMS, and Josh’s channels. I have narrowed down my choices to the Sundaras and Zeus for under $500. For the save and buy later stuff I’m looking between Focal Elex or GPL2000. Is it worth saving up for the other two or are they not that much better to justify paying extra? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’m not sure how good the Sundara’s will be for the likes of hip-hop as they might not have as much bass as you want.

I currently have Meze 99 Classics which are superb. I listen to a lot of hip-hop and R&B and they work really well.

I see I hear sundaras always being described as punchy but not loud. Thanks for the insight though. I’ll be sure to look into the meze 99 classics too.
