Headphones for cempetitive gaming and music

Hi guys!

This is my first post!

So, my HyperX Cloud I died, and I need to buy new headphones.
I play Fps games like csgo and listen to a lot of music like rap, rock and electro.

To my budget, I saw these options:

Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 ohm - €114
Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 250 ohm - €122

Personally I prefer close back, so the best option will be the DT 770 right?
The difference between the two is to be open or close?

Are there any other option with the same specs within the same price?

Another question, i will have to purchase a dac / amp? If so, which one, or can (for now) use the headphones on my motherboard? (gigabyte ga-ab350 gaming 3)

They also have different signatures, I do think the dt990 250 (preferably 600 ohm) is higher preforming for gaming, but if you want isolation and little leak, the 770 250 ohm is also really solid.

So what I would do is pick up a solid amp like a magni 3+ or liquid spark and run it from the dac of your motherboard, should work just fine and give a nice quality improvement to the headphones

What games do you play and what music do you listen to? Also how much would you say you listen to music vs gaming?

The Dt990 600 ohm is way above my budget, so the DT 700 250 ohm as a good choice? or the DT990 250 ohm will be better?

I’ve been researching and the best option won’t be Fulla or something? since it is dac / amp?

I play csgo and cod and listen rap, rock and electonic.

I would say it will be 50/50 playing time and music

Personally no. I think getting a better amp and then later on getting a better dac like the topping d10 or smsl m100 is more worthwhile imo

For what you listen to and your use case, the 770 250 might suit your music tastes more and still preform in games

Just make sure to grab a 3.5mm to rca cable to connect the amp up to your pc line out as well
