Headphones for D90/A90 stack?

So I’ve been considering diving in the Hi Fi rabbit hole for nearly a year now and recently had a chance with a bonus to snag a Topping D90/A90 as a bit impulse. I really liked the physical aesthetic and they seemed fairly universally praised technically.
Now I’ve definitely put the cart before the horse and hadn’t sorted out a (open) headphone to pair with them.

I had previously been thinking about picking up Elex headphones but am semi concerned it would be wasted / lopsided on a D90/A90 stack?

I’m waffling between returning the stack (still in box) and recalibrating with cheaper dac/amp or finding something appropriate to pair with the stack.

I guess I’m basically trying to figure out if my original Elex idea would be fine or if I “should” be looking at like LCD-X or Focal Clear ‘level’ headphones? Is there anything that pairs particularly well with D90/A90?

This is my recommendation anywhere under $2000. I haven’t found anything I like more all around at any price. New for $700 or open box for $640 and it’s like $540 when used ones pop up on that same link.
