I use the good old Phillips SHP 9500 or whatever they’re called… They’re light weight, you can hear your drums through them , they sound quite decent, are cheap and are easy to drive…
The ones the owner of this site used to rave about on his YouTube channel when he first started out…

Dont think thats a plus imo. Especially for young kids with their very sensitive ears.
Well if you dont hear your drums you’ll never know if you’re any good…imho…
You wont remove ALL of it, with an over ear with leather/pleather pads and especially when you are young and sensitive.
Sensitive people don’t play the drums…
