The Ad Hominem aside

Burden of Proof is not something I see being thrown arround a lot.

@M0N you may have to move some posts here to another thread (in off-topic)

When one agrees to disagree, they tend not to continue arguing. I think somebody logged into the wrong forum…and forgot their manners along the way.

P.S. Internet arguing always makes people change their minds…said nobody ever.

To clear some stuff up here. Different amps sound different. Different dacs sound different. However, people have different hearing and in some if not many cases there are people who will not hear a difference due to many different reasons. If you decide to go to a 1990 I would definitely just say to go ahead and pick up a spark with an e30. It does well to tone back the treble a bit more offering a nice warmer yet smoother sound to the headphone it pairs really well with the headphone. If your not wanting a bright headphone like you said earlier simply pick up the 660 s I don’t think you will be disappointed as its a very great headphone. You can still use the spark in this case or even the magni 3+ which may provide a bit more warmth and detail. Your experience will definitely vary. If at all possible perhaps consider checking out your local audio store or find places with a good return policy and check a couple out for yourself see what you like. This hobby has so many different headphones amps and dacs that everyone has their own tastes. Hopefully some information here helped ya out. Feel free to chime back in with what you went with and your thoughts on it.

Sounds great, oh also if you already own a 650. May be a nice idea to try the 1990 instead since it is quite a bit different. Might compliment your 650s a bit more since 660 sounds fairly similar. Definitely chime in your thoughts when you get the amp though look forward to hearing it.

Setting up fruitful research (like a true double blind test) isn’t easy, and absolutely can’t be done alone. You would actually need quite an elaborate setup for this to work. It’s a HUGE ask for people discussing audio products on the internet.

Think of it like someone discussing cars and they want to buy a Porsche to replace their Mercedes. This guy chimes in and says “put them both on a dyno and see if you can tell the difference from the graphs!”. It’s that level of ridiculous.

Some bi-stable relays, a button and an Arduino at a minimum.

I would assume also a way to randomize and make fresh notes with each switch.

Don’t forget the flux condenser…

It’s too much to ask when the whatever Clark DBT he talks about is the one and only basis for his opinions and is flawed, therefore he doesn’t know more than any of us.

Who wants free money?

better yet can I have that bifrost for free? Good lord, what a good dac… However, lets not keep this train rolling shall we? Can be off topic for that stuff lol.

Both of those are what I would use an Arduino for. Then you can either do by time intervall or by button press. I would also not prevent not switching the source.
If interested in a small solder free DIY project, I can make a thread for this.

I really don’t thinks this was trolling. I’d guess it was just a ASR forum member who forgot that the HiFi guides forum is not a place that agrees with the measurements over all else type mentality.

last question, magni 3+ or magni heresy?
