I own the rb42s, they arent particularly good for bookshelves. i would say the soundstage is a bit restricted when under 2 and a half to 3 feet from the wall. Not good bookshelf speakers (not to mention the port in the back)
The term bookshelf has just been turned into the idea of a smaller passive speaker lol (or powered)
