HELP - Replacement jack socket for HE-400

Hi forum,

I want to ask if anybody knows anything about replacing the stock mini SMC socket for a 2,5 or 3,5mm mono jack. I am searching on the internet, but no topic on this or I’ve not found any. I want to replace it because the stock cable is damaged (bought it like that) under the SMC plug. So I want to replace it and make 3,5mm jacks on the end and in the future a balanced cable.

Thank you.

I’m not sure exactly why you would want to replace the mini SMC socket when it’s your cable that is damaged? You can find a replacement cable easily on amazon for around 20-25 bucks. If you’re looking to diy then ebay would be your best bet.
mini SMC jack:
Sorry if I misunderstood your question.

Hi morasuru, the thing is, that the mini SMC connector is a pain in the ass and I want to replace it with a normal jack, as I don’t need to order everything from the ebay and wait a month to maybe arrive from China. My father, as a soldering master (LOL) and technician will help me with a new cable, maybe after buying an AUNE X7s a balanced one.

OK, so if nobody can help, then I will stick to 2,5mm panel sockets, as those are small enough to get in that tiny space. They are not gold plated, but I think it will not mater.

I would stick to 2.5mm since that’s what the newer gen’s use. So at least they’re designed with a similar fit in mind.

Thank you DMS. Just a question - do you think, that a socket like this would be OK? I wanted something better, but this is what I can order in Slovakia.

Thank you.
