I want to ask if anybody knows anything about replacing the stock mini SMC socket for a 2,5 or 3,5mm mono jack. I am searching on the internet, but no topic on this or I’ve not found any. I want to replace it because the stock cable is damaged (bought it like that) under the SMC plug. So I want to replace it and make 3,5mm jacks on the end and in the future a balanced cable.
Hi morasuru, the thing is, that the mini SMC connector is a pain in the ass and I want to replace it with a normal jack, as I don’t need to order everything from the ebay and wait a month to maybe arrive from China. My father, as a soldering master (LOL) and technician will help me with a new cable, maybe after buying an AUNE X7s a balanced one.
OK, so if nobody can help, then I will stick to 2,5mm panel sockets, as those are small enough to get in that tiny space. They are not gold plated, but I think it will not mater.
