Hi im new to digital players looking at the Fiio m23, Fiio M15 VS shanling m6 ultra what would be best for the same price

Hi im new to digital players, looking at the Fiio m23, Fiio M15 VS Shanling m6 ultra or the HiBy R6 Pro II, what would be best for the same price. I already have a SMSL sp200 with a VMV D1se ver 1 on my pc desk. Thanks

I had the m6u. It’s a solid player, but the OS is dated and Shanling is not great about updates/bug fixes. The tuning is close to Shanling’s house sound, but you can do better for resolution and stage for less money. Honestly I like the Ibasso dx180 better. The m6u has more power I guess. The m6u is also getting little old in dap years. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next gen is coming soon.

I have not tried the M23. It seems like a solid choice. Same OS as m6u, but Fiio has better support. There was supposed to be an update to Android 12. I don’t think that has happened though.

I also have not tried the r6ii. Its battery is seriously lacking. The r6ii does not seem worth it to me. The r6 max is bulkier, but seems to fix most of the issues with the r6ii.
