my only concern is that these have so much more tech built into them than the original wired Ananda’s but come at the same price. were corners cut to do this?
yes, it does have a mic option, however it plugs into what used to be a cable connector, so it doesn’t mar the lines or looks like the Audeze LCD-GX. and because it has a built in DAC/Amp, you can do wired via USB cable.
I don’t know if they cut corners because of the current price of the regular Ananda at 850. An extra 150 for bt seems reasonable. I don’t know if it will sound as good as the regular Ananda though
Although now that I look it might have a slightly different diaphragm
But it does look super neat, as l like how well they integrated this into the already existing design. I think the sound quality will be pretty good, but I wonder what the mic quality will be, because wireless can be a mixed bag for sure. This will give them a nice position in the market for high end wireless (if it sounds good)
That tech looks awesome …so being being an old cnut will I eventually be able to enjoy to my ""Abyss “” headphones while making Shepherds pie and not worry about getting high end cables stained?
The ananda is actually pretty bright compared to the lcd 2 classics. The lcd is heaver and the better built imo. The ananda is lighter and can feel a bit cheap. The ananda has the classic hifiman large planar bigness to the sound, but the lcd sounds more meaty and warmer, and I prefer the bass on the lcd. Mids are kind of a toss up of preference to me
yeah, Josh said the treble is quite forward, but not so forward they fatigue and also commented that the bass isn’t as present as others…which sounds to me like the Ananda is a rather neutral headphone.
saw the BT Ananda at munich high end this may but did not give it a try, because of loud surroundings
I would always prefer to use a bluetooth dac/amp (Earstudio ES 100, Fiio BTR3, ifi xDSD or xCAN) with standard headphone
the BT stuff misses out LDAC support most of the times and I don´t like the idea of build in DSP
with the Beyerdynamic Amiron wireless for example - people say it get´s not loud enough…
you can easily upgrade a mobile dac/amp if needed - maybe the batteries get weaker after some years in the BT headphone and the pain, sending them in somewhere… no thanks
but if a open BT HF - the Ananda would sure be my first choice at the moment because of looks and sound(hopefully similar to the standard Ananda)
Yeah, TBH I wouldn’t buy this either because I prefer wired, but it is an interesting market segment, because if it takes off, hopefully they will work to improve battery life and bt sound quality. I don’t think bt is there yet, so it would be nice if they were able to make it a bit better
