Hip dac and starfields

Hi guys,

I’ve gotten a hip dac for my sundaras. And ended up getting a pair of starfields for outdoor use.

What are your thoughts on running starfields off hip dac. I feel like amp adds depth quite a bit.

But what I’ve been playing around with is the DACs power match button.

And it seemed it sounds a tiny bit more detailed.

But it’s the same level of loudness on

Power match on volume 40%

Power match off volume 60%

How do you guys feel about the X bass?

I know I can end up damaging my iems or dac. Specially with the power match button. Since itspractically a gain button?

Would I end up damaging amp as well or am I just overthinking as far as I keep volume around 50%

Both my eardrums and iems and amp would be fine?
