I bought the iBasso dc03 to use iems and headphones with my phone. the problem is that when using it with my phone a have constant hiss / white noise in the background which is very annyoing. tried it on another phone, same problem. but the issue disappears when i connect it to my laptop. Is this a power supply problem or what?
I highly doubt it. Somebody who knows the technical side of things will be able to give you a much more detailed answer, but from my understanding hiss gets picked up when the THD+N or SNR aren’t low enough, and thus higher sensitivity headphones/earphones pick up amp’s hiss.
I myself can hear hiss on my laptop (MacBook Pro 2015). I have a phone (Samsung Galaxy S8) but I do not recall hearing hiss. The IEMs I use on a daily basis are the Jade Audio EA3.
For example, desktop amps like the Topping A90 have an incredible SNR (A90 has something crazy like 145 dB). These specs matter with high sensitivity headphones/earphones.
For example, my iBasso SR2 is amp sensitive and easily picks up noise, so I have to be careful when hooking it up to an amp.
Tried it with sensitive iems and also with my beyer dt 990 pro 250ohm. Doesn’t change anything…
Oh my bad, I thought that you were talking about an IEM.
In that case, I’m not sure what could be causing this.
Did you reach out to iBasso?
Yes. But they just said they don’t know anything about this issue and i should just return the item. Unfortunately i bought it from aliexpress and sending it back to china is expensive and therefore pointless
