How to get rid of high pitch noise from speaker?

I recently decided to splurge a little (in my case) on a set of speakers, so I bought the Edifier S350DB. I listened to it the first time and really liked it. Then comes the problem. I’ve noticed that when I have the speakers on there is a constant high pitched noise coming from the speakers. It doesn’t happen all the time but so far I would say 80% of time when I turn it on it’s there. I was wondering what could cause it and how can I fix it? Also since it’s my first time ever setting up something like this, I’m still a lost soul. From what I know of so far is that I don’t need an AMP, but did I need to get a DAC?

It’s a defect. I bought a second pair since I loved the first ones I got and it had this problem. I contacted Edifier support and they swapped my set.

EDIT: You don’t need a DAC either. If you use the Optical, Coaxial or Bluetooth inputs, you’ll use the DAC the speakers come with.
