I am considering a hiatus from collecting IEMs

Good morning, afternoon or evening to all. I just wanted to share my thoughts and feelings on what is going on with me lately when it comes to the hobby that I grew to love back in 2016 or even longer than 2016 for I really cannot recall the days on when I exactly evolved and improved more when it comes to discovering the sounds that I love.

It’s really tough for me even today, for I am still recovering from the amount of money that I have lost back then thanks to a scam, and lately? I got to admit it’s a contributing factor on why lately I don’t feel that much excited or even have the urge to get a new IEM set, hell I have been avoiding videos about HiFi in general due to that tumultuous event happening to me, for I’ve had been a fool.

I guess for now all I have to do is just take a long break, for I think a break is needed when you’re feeling burnout on the things you love. I don’t know what will happen but I hope at some point I can feel the love again and find things that are interesting to me again overall.

If you are reading this, I thank you and I give thanks to the people who have helped me a lot back then with their suggestions and advices.

I think it is smart to take a break, and hopefully the love for the hobby comes back! All the best😊

X2 but @K4sh1ma it’s not all about chasing sets, spending money, it’s about enjoying music with what you have. Music IS the hobby don’t ever forget that, yes I know that hovering a finger on ‘buy’ is a drug but at the end of the day you’ll only listen to one set at a time. So take your time there’s no rush no pressure but always a new FOTM :notes::gem::peace_symbol:

It’s a hobby, dude. If something that is supposed to be a fun pastime is causing you this much stress and mental angst, it’s time to take a break.

Let the love return organically. Don’t force it. When you return, you’ll probably be blown away by the evolution of the species even after stepping away for just six months.

Good luck. Enjoy the music, not the gear.

This is absolutely spot on! THIS is why we do what we do. We chase good gear just so we can improve the listening experience of the music we already love.
