IEM discussion thread (Part 1)

I should hear HD6XX in a near future, ask mr again when I do it

Lol, the Tea2 is definitely on my radar. My only worries about them is their price and if I will like the fit/comfort, as they do be on the chunkier side of IEMs. At least when compared to stuff like the FH3 and Olina SE anyways. But my biggest issue is with Linsoulā€™s garbage return policies. A 35% (so itā€™d be like $100) restocking fee if I want to return them in case I donā€™t find them worth it for the price is brutal. They are on Amazon but there is no 3.5 cable option, along with them not being shipped by Amazon. Meaning it is still going to use Linsoulā€™s policies.

I have similar thoughts about the Penon Serial.

I absolutely recommend it. Theyā€™re just an absolute joy and pleasure to use. One thing to mention though is if youā€™ll be using them out of the box, they have a head crushing clamp. I wasnā€™t able to use them for more than 15 mins or so cause of it. This video helped turn them into the most comfy cans Iā€™ve put on my head.

Have you tried the JVC FDX1? Imo the HD6XX of earphones with the filters they come with. I thought they were more like it than the Teas especially since theyā€™re 1DD with no BAs which change the sound dynamics and timbre imo.

Take a look at the QKZ x HBB, it might beat the FH3.

SA6 Ultra will be the most expensive IEM Iā€™ve bought, really hope it lives up to the hype :grimacing:

Enjoy! Seems like you have a banger of a set coming in.

For $20 that almost sounds too good to be true lol. I have ordered it.

You wonā€™t be disappointed- itā€™s a fantastic set, full stop.

Itā€™s true - I know if I had to own the FH3 or the QKZxHBB Iā€™d quite easily pick the latter. And a year and a half ago or so the FH3 was considered unbelievable value. This is the kind of slippery slope that Iā€™m totally here for.

IEMs are weird af lol. Anything else you would recommend trying out? So far also had the Olina SE, Tri Starsea, and Kai, none of them scratched that itch. I would want to try the HA-FDX1 but itā€™s out of stock right now.

Whatā€™s missed the mark so far? Kai is a sub-bass focused IEM, Olina is neutral-tilted bright. Starsea is balanced tilting a little warm. And the fit didnā€™t work.

But what did you like in the sound? That would help narrow it down

Is it that good?
Never heard the FH3 before, but it was in my bucket list last year when my journey with IEMs started.
Wondering what Iā€™m missing with these new cheap sets being better and better.

Iā€™m not sure really. It honestly will come down to your preferences in my option. A lot of other more talented, more experienced people have reviewed it but from my point of view - for $20, itā€™s the staple bass centric set under $50. I prefer it to the Mele.

Mele is one of my favorite IEMsā€¦ I think this $20 set deserve a try, Iā€™ll pull the trigger.
