IEM discussion thread (Part 2)

Bad news, without the filter meshes on each vents, the left ear piece sounds very low now and no longer produces the sounds that I want as same as the right ear piece. But, covering the vents with a tape restores the volume and sounds that I want from my S08’s left piece, which is weird. Also the driver flex is just gone, more odd indeed.

Thank you I will try it

In my research I find these to get the most recommendations under 100 :

R1
t10
Delci ae
Fudu
500lm
S08

But since it’s a blind buy I don’t know which one is better

blind buy is Simgot EW300, it’s the most well rounded out of all the ones you listed

Get the DSP version and then buy another 3.5mm cable on the side (or if you already have a 0.78mm 2 pin) and you’ll get 4 different tunings with the nozzles since the DSP cable and 3.5/4.4 are different :+1:

Blind buy? don’t do S08, it’s got overpowering bass for most I think, along with a more relaxed treble for a planar so I’d remove that one

I got the Explorer and love em as well but wanted to ask if you know like something close to it but with more treble extension?

I know this forum loves Simgot. I need to hear them some day for myself.

I have heard the Delci OG, and I just love that guy. It’s awesome.

I am trying to get an understanding of how thin the Dusk sounds in analog configuration. Can anyone compare it to the Kato? The Kato seems to have light bass and not too much warmth in the mids to me. I have always wanted to try Dusk for some reason but never got to it.

My Thieaudio Origin came in today. Sound good so far. Pretty exciting. I squiged it if anyone wants to check it out.

I wonder if they’ll make it available on Amazon, I got 500 bucks stuck on a vanilla gift card rn lmao

Thieaudio Origin arrived today.
Can come with impressions tomorrow, very tired today. But its really good, warm and fun tuning. Also at the second photo, check that large circle I assume is the BC driver?

That stock cable sure looks funky! Very un-Thieaudio-like.

Does the BC actually shake the shell?

Yeah its coaxial style and thicker than the hype 4 and Oracle mk3 cable, still ergonomic and not to heavy. But it does have some memory to it.

I don’t mind the style, that’s for sure, but I have handled ones in a similar finish and they’re just too stiff for me to use on a day to day basis. Still, looks pretty cool!

Nope, the BC is also not positioned for the bass as I understand from the John Parker interview on the Linsoul YT channel.

From this description on their site:

The Origin utilizes a large 11mm true BC driver. Tuned to target the midrange and treble, the BC driver actually enhances the sound signature significantly, which can be clearly heard as well as visually graphed with measuring equipment. Our in-house BC driver can be felt due to its tactile vibrations, which adds a new dimension to your music. Furthermore, the audible quality of the BC driver can be described to add expansive soundstage to the midrange and treble.

Sounds very much like it is the same type of BC (bass shaker and not a piezo type) as the one in the Zempire set. Dissapointed again by chifi bc…

Hell if it doesn’t shake it then eh

Guess I gotta find a way to do PayPal so I can just buy zempire one

After the shenanigans with this gift card anyways
