You might want to find out if they have the stealth revised version or not. I loved the first version at least.
The Dunu Lyre cable arrived today. Pretty quick turnaround, actually! I immediately attached it to the Da Vinci. Between this and the S&S tips, I think I have them dialed in. Sonically itâs just beautiful now. You just want to keep listening to it. Itâs a really good looking set, too.
EDIT: Pardon my confusion, the S&S tips went on the PA02. The tips shown are the Spinfits, which for me are fantastic on this set.
How is he cable regarding "touch and feel". Stiffness, microphonics and such?
I love it. The cable itself is very pliable and feels nice to the touch. It has no memory and doesnât kink etc. The preformed ear hooks feel very comfortable and stay in place well. I used the chin cinch to âtrainâ the cable to lay properly, and it responded well. I find it to be extremely comfortable to wear. I wish it was a little longer. Other than that, I am very happy with it.
Thanks!

That was my take on the entire Hype series. I am very picky going above $150, but the budget options are so much better in that range today.
I bought the Doscinco mostly to check out isobaric bass, and it is my favorite set this year. It is a nice middle ground on the quality and quantity. I am guessing the Deuce will be in that same neighborhood.
Today was my day to watch football, while listening to iems. I usually pull a few out that I havenât listened to in a while. I was reminded that KZ Vader balanced got overlooked. I also replaced the dsp on the moondrop May, and it was very close to the EW300.
Both the stealth revised version and original sound good. With the revised version, take out the foam inserts and it opens up the sound and clarity more. But if you are looking for a brighter set with even more resolution, then the Letshuoer S12 2024 is better.
A couple of months back Hidizs did a campaign to prove that both versions were the same and it backfired after 1 participating reviewer said it wasnât. I didnât see any subsequent reviews. LOL
I got Doscinco as well recently
Alright I will keep that in mind, thank you for the reply man.
Yeah will do, and I think itâs safe to do that once I have received the MP145, since the set that is going to send me has been used back then, and I am willing to have an open mind and give it a try. But yeah, when the sounds I get from it arenât to my tastes and to my liking it, I will do your suggestion of removing the foam inserts.
$83.99 for AFUL MagicOne at Amazon. Thatâs borderline theft for a terrific IEM:
where are you buying your iems man? Those are some high prices even in âŹ. I know for sure you can get tea pro for around 330⏠on linsoul. Estrella around 280⏠i think. Also Doscinco should be around 250-260âŹ
do you think even the hype 2 is overhyped? Can be bought for 225⏠currently on amazon germany. but i guess for that price might as well go a bit more for doscinco or estrella
Ok it has been days of me using the Hidizs MP145, and I think I have found the right tips for this set for I admit, the damn fit initially was a damn challenge for me. The Dunu S&S medium tips did the job for me, now the fit has been improved without the sound signature changing drastically. Also I have noticed, you can pretty much experiment with this IEM set because to me, the sound changes for real when I am using different tips on it and as well as using the tuning nozzles that came with it. Overall, the S&S tips did it.
Even if it cost another $50, I would still rather have Doscinco. I would take the Explorer over the Hype 2, and it is about 1/3 the price.
I have heard Estrella, and while it sounded great, it wasnât for me. The bass was great, but it was just a bit too spicy. Early pinna, and the pronounced peaks at 3k and 5k usually hit me wrong, and Estrella was no exception. I totally get why people love it.
Hi everyone!
Can any one recommend a balanced DAC, USB input, RCA or XLR out preferred, for under $300? The world of sources is so thick and dense I have no idea where to start.
Any feedback is appreciated
Or, alternatively, one thatâs a bit older that once retailed for somewhere around $500. Maybe I could find one on classifieds for around that $300 mark. Donât mind buying new or used!
Do you need a volume/pre-out functionality or just a pure DAC with said features?
Honestly, brother, I donât even know what a volume pre-out does so most likely not lol
If I understand correctly, a pre-out is mostly for speakers right?
Yes, or for another amplifer where you want variable audio. I just wanted to make sure before I recâd anything that you do or do not need a variable volume control on the DAC itself (which I assume you are pairing up with a dedicated headphone amp), since that would limit choices.
