aaa you havent been around long enough where that tactic was widely used.
They are combining the driver count from both sides, so its 1 on each side.
And that “electrostatic” driver is false, it is an magnetostatic driver.

I wonder why they removed the branding on that listing…
These are made by Lafitear and we are missing such marketing gems as

Ok just realised something that I want @GooberBM to confirm. You like the Celest Phoenixcall a lot right?
Would you say that the treble on it is DD-like?
(will reveal what im thinking after your answer to prevent placebo, dont check my discord until after either.)
Oh I posted it as a “run far, far away” find. This is when you scrolled on the deals page too long and they’re scraping the bottom of the bottom of the barrel lol
It’s been a minute since I heard it, so my memory is faulty, but in my notes compared to Quintet, I found Quintet had more metallic sounding treble to me (not by a lot, but at the time: gun to my head I’d like PC’s treble more for sounding natural)
Mind trying it before I say whats on my mind?
Nothing really stuck out to my ear about the treble being weird. I just took them at their word that their micro planar were handling it. Didn’t really consider the DD handling it (as a full range) but I suppose the planars just being used like ESTs in the high air region is possible.
But I did figure it was just the planars handling it
basically
7mm DD = woofer
Bellsing BA = mids
Bellsing BA = tweeter
2x FPD = super tweeter
Alright I say what I have in mind then.
to
7mm DD = woofer
Bellsing BA = mids
Bellsing BA = tweeter
2x “DD” = super tweeter
Doesnt this remind you of something else? Perhaps…the Sony IER-Z1R?
Cuz the Z1R has a setup like this:
12mm DD = full range
BA = tweeter
5mm DD = super tweeter
People have been wanting anything that uses a DD for the treble like the Z1R and we might have had one for a while now with the Phoenixcall.
Give me a proper IER Z1R copy!
Aful MagicOne?
Yeah! Aful MagicOne is really good. It doesn’t have that DD slam, but everything else is buttery. The vocals are nice.
Proper IER Z1R copy sounds hawt.
I dunno. I have enough “correct” IEMs. I like having an IEM or two that just tries something weird and takes a risk.
If I didn’t already have Light Harmonic Mera or KBear Ormosia, PhoenixCall would’ve been more of a keeper
I’m probably still selling mine and I need the right tips to remove some early gain from the FR, but the FWX1 are an indulgent bassy and pretty spacious set. Cool driver.

Heck you weren’t kidding!
The ancient Greek philosopher Plato once said, “If you have two loaves of bread, please take one for daffodils.” After tasting this sentence slowly, I found that I am really grateful to this great philosopher who helped me There was a blank space in my heart.
When I was upset, it taught me to think calmly; when I was bored and empty, it led me into the palace of music. In this spiritual habitat, I use those words that are sometimes poignant and poignant, embellishing the years of fire.
Those talented musicians edify me with their eternal classics; those dazzling music make my life poetically perch. Even a little bit, like this spring rain, is enough to nourish my restless mind! Good headphones are not the pursuit of bigger gimmicks and more dazzling qualities, but better music tastes, allowing us to gain understanding and comfort in music, making us more gentle and compassionate and empathetic. Let’s move through time and space and get a grip on everyone and everything.
After taking off the headphones, let us live in peace with the world and ourselves.
Never heard of it!
Cool minidisc player though
still have a sony MD player; MZN910, had it 20 odd years and still works!
I like the way that satin finish on the shells looks with that color, but maybe I’d rather have that on something else, something…cheaper
I have 6 minidisc portables from the first one up to the HiMD version and 2 full hifi players. Loved minidisc still have a crate of 64 HiMD blanks still sealed.
@MMag05 was nice enough to loan me his Aurora so I could compare them to my Aure. Here is my quick take on the Aur Audio Aurora!
So I was really excited to get into the Aurora cause the Aure is my favorite set to date. I realized Im just a sucker for vocals and the Aure imo has some of the best vocals I have heard in an IEM. That and the HRTF must just work with my ears cause the stage and imaging is bonkers for me. To round out the bomb qualities of the Aure, the bass does exactly what it needs to without taking away from its most redeeming qualities. Having said that, I would definitely consider the Aure to be a specialist set. The mids can be a bit recessed, especially for those who highly value note weight. I know what you must be saying, “I thought this was a review of the Aurora”. Well it is, but talking about the Aure is important to set the stage. The Aurora shares a ton of DNA with the Aure. They are both from Aur Audio and are hybrids with 6BAs (Aurora has 2DD to Aure’s single DD). Honestly, listening to the Aurora it felt like like I was listening to a more mature Aure. The Aure is like a child, unabashedly running around, shouting at the top of its lungs, singing and dancing with full vigor. The Aurora on the other hand, is that child all grown up, with the maturity of someone who has learned the that compromise is sometimes necessary to succeed but that doesn’t mean you can’t let loose every once and a while.
Now with the scene set let’s dig into the Aurora a bit more specifically. The first thing I notice with the Aurora is that it’s incredibly smooth and mellow without lacking clarity. This does come at the cost of engagement and excitement. Nothing stands out as the star of the show on this set which makes this a great all arounder. Now whether that is good or bad is up to the user and what they are looking for. This is a great set if you want some high quality music in the background while you are doing work. It won’t pull you away or distract you, it won’t fatigue you after a couple of hours but it also won’t make you pause and go “wow”. If I had to pick something that makes this set rise about the rest it would be how good the note weight and physicalness to the lower mids without closing up the stage and muddying them up.
Overall the Aurora is a hard set to hate on. I can understand why people may be hesitant to pay the asking price, especially since its more of a jack of all trades but I appreciate what Aur was able to do here.
