I’m looking for IEMs with good noise isolation to use while drumming. The ideal price would be $150-$250, but may be up to $300. I’m currently considering these:
- FiiO FH3
- FiiO FH5
- FiiO FA7
- Thieaudio Legacy 4
- Thieaudio Legacy 5

i can only say personally love my Legacy 3, i also own the FH3 which are nice and energetic but i still prefer the legacy 3.
However in terms of sound isolation - good tips are key particularly foam, so something like dekoni bullets
+1 for the legacy 3 not to mention you can get a CIEM version if you ask Linsoul directly, there’s no better fit than that and it’s also under $300 I think.
Wouldn’t agree on the foam tips tho, silicone ones isolate much better (for me at least). I’d recommend these Azla SednaEarfit Series Silicon Eartips – Linsoul Audio
If noise isolation is your highest priority, you can buy double or triple flange sillicone tips for IEMs - that way you will get (probably) the highest possible passive noise isolation. But like olinko wrote - CIEM version of legacy 3 might be the best solution.
Etymotic
FH5 with Xelastec Tips isolates pretty good, same goes for FH3.
Both nice IEMs, FH5 probably a bit more technical but i could not do any A/B testing as I sold FH3
You need iems with unvented shells. So I would recommend the Audiosense DT100 or the DT200.
Lol thats because they are in so far they are touching grey matter!
They don’t offer the CIEM version anymore.
That’s a shame, it was a great offer while it lasted.
But even with that, the L3 is still a great choice, I know it’s much better received than the L4, not really sure about the L5, don’t remember anything about it
Other than that, currently the Mangird Tea and the Penon Serial seem to be the ~$300 favorites on these forums but I haven’t heard those personally
DT100 vs. DT200? Which would you prefer for relaxed listening? I am a sucker for Audiosense and I have one new DT100 in sealed box available for 40 bucks in my city…
40 is a nice deal. But both of them lack a lot of tech for their MSRP and I wouldnt be surprised if all these new 20 usd iems are actually better in that regard.
You want them if you want to try BA iems, that are close to DDs in timbre and bass texture. DT100 has better bass but worse tech than the DT200. DT200 is pretty much better in every way except the bass. So get the DT100 if u want bass, or the DT200 for everything else.
