I got HD800s as a gift from a friend and my FiiO E10K doesn’t seem to be enough for HD800s because I remember them sounding better when I tired them at the shop on a more expensive AMP. My budget is pretty limited so I was thinking of getting sonata hd pro and topping L30. My budget is around 200 euros but I may sell my LCD 2C to get it up to 700 euros if needed.
I would really suggest spending a bit more on the 800s for amp and dac, personally at minimum I would prefer something like an asgard 3 (or lake people g103s) for them with an earmen donald (or topping e30) or modius dac, but I do think you can easily get more out of them by spending more than. The asgard 3 really helps qualm the treble peaks a bit on the senns, and also helps fill out the lack of body in the midrange and bass at times, also pretty spatially impressive. The lake people really gives it good drive and control without being fatiguing or one dimensional
I do think if you end up willing to sell your lcd 2c, I would suggest to check out something like a feliks audio echo paired with an allo revolution dac, that would be a very sweet combo with the hd800s if you wanted to relax it a bit while still maintaining it’s capability (and it would offer a higher level of performance than the asgard 3 + earmen or other dac like a topping e30). If you wanted an all in one, you could try and find a questyle cma400i or cma600i, those are both very solid all in ones that offer a more neutral and smoother sound as well

The roger is a pretty nice amp, although I don’t know how long it takes to get one lol
I just mentioned Tor because he mentioned he is in EU and they are also somewhere in Poland i think. Either way, thats as close to local and a possibility of his price range i could think of…

My personal recommendation for the HD800S is the Questyle CMA400i.
I personally use this DAC / Amp in combination with the Sennheiser and I am extremely satisfied with it.
Questyle uses the HD800S as a reference to tune their devices, so this combination is very consistent.
And you can easily get it in Europe.

Used JDS Labs EL Amp maybe if you don’t need balanced and you are stuck around 200. It’s a bit softer sounding.
So a topping d50s, a50 would power these well?
Personally I wouldn’t say so, that would be a very dry, lean, and bright experience. It would sound ok if you are fine with that but honestly they aren’t very technically impressive on the setup either
ATM I have a 5k pro that I borrowed from a friend. Definitely sounds better than my E10K.
