Not every tube amp is necessarily warm sounding. Maybe keep some budget left over to switch to high quality Russian tubes.
Personally, I would rather connect a tube preamp to the x1s and then use a powerful SS amp.
Yes, experimenting with nos tubes can help get sound to how you like it
In this case, he has a pair of 6xx which I think would work really well with an otl amp imo, as a tube preamp and solid state amp might be more subtle imo
Sennheiser are great with tubes, I just wanted to show an alternative way that also likes Planar.
But must admit the price of the darkvoice 336se is unbeatable.
