Is Schiit Fulla 4 enough for my DT880 250ohm

based off of specs, should be fine driving the 880’s

I don’t understand the specs that much.
I get there’s some RMS, but don’t really know how it matters and how can I judge AMPs by that

most amps have it listed in mw or watts, 1000mw = 1w. volts is only half the equation of watts, you also need to know amps. but assuming they are driving the roughly 2.6volts it will have at 250ohm(thats a guess as it isnt listed) with a 1/4 of an amp, that equates to over 600mw. i would guess that would be around the max they are driving it. but i also wouldnt think they would be driving it with much less.

VxA=W’s

Thanks for clearing it up. Well, Beyerdynamic lists it as 100mW max. Now it sound almost like an overkill solution, but I am probably wrong.

Don’t know if the Monolith Liquid Spark is easier to get in the EU, but I can fully recommend that amp. It can easily drive the 600ohm on low gain so the 250 shouldn’t be a problem and it sounds excellent for the money :+1:

your good on that front. they can handle a lot more power then that spec. people use much stronger amps to drive them, and more then 100mw

Well, I would rather have a DAC/AMP since I have no DAC and spending another 100+ euros on it isn’t really what I wanna do.

Fair point. Good luck on your search!

I see, but I guess it should be at least enough then

yes, i would think so.

Also, what do you think about the Fiio E10K. It’s dirt cheap, but is it good enough?

EDIT: Just found out that the Fulla is out of stock with no estimate. That narrows the search a bit.

its good for its price. bargain basement. and better than computer audio for sure.

What about the duo . Been browsing local retailer a bit… Can get it for around 80 euros. Would need a DAC on top tho…

Seems pretty good for the price

its solid. will add a tad of warmth.

That’s probably a positive thing for me. The 880s tend to be a bit too bright for my taste at some times. Will it sound any good without an external DAC though or is it a complete nonsense to buy just an AMP?
I feel like a 50$ DAC wouldn’t do much more than what I have in the laptop…

I will just reply here you could add the topping D10s. Perfectly good dac and you could use the digital outputs to go to the edifier 1280DBs. If you decide to upgrade or change things in the future the D10s is a nice digital to digital pass through which is just generally useful to have around for converting usb to coax or spdif. I actually use one with the 1280DBs since my mini PC setup does not have any digital outputs besides USB.

Thanks for the recommendation.
Sadly, I don’t want to go much over 100€ on this upgrade. Of course, I can buy a DAC later.

yes you can =) and you will notice a difference with the amp.

edit: make sure windows volume 100% and control volume with amp

For sure I will. The one thing I currently lack the most is the volume so an AMP it is. Also quite curious about the tubey goodness.

that will give you a small taste. i would get a dac before tube rolling, just saying  its fairly linear with a touch of the tube warmth. but it plays nice with low impedance headphones, something a lot of full on tube amps can not do.
