Is using an audio splitter bad for 1 iem and 1 headphone?

I got a aux splitter cable because my wife and I plan to watch a movie on our iPad and it will go like this: iPad->usb-c donge->audio splitter->my ie400pro and her m40x

make sure that it splits stereo to both connections and doesn’t split it left / right channels each.

Would say the biggest problem could be the difference in sensitivity, so one would be louder than the other.
So if you try it out and go from quiet to a good audio level without blowing something up, not much should go wrong

I will say it’s not the best to do, as DB mentioned, volume, channel balance, etc can be affected. but, if you need to share audio with someone the only other option would be to get a proper splitter box; if the sound degrades so badly it sucks.
