Issue with on board mic audio using the Vmoda. Need Advice

So I just recently switched to a Status audio CB-1 with a Vmoda boom pro but I’m having issues with the mic input. I plug my headphones into the 3 pole splitter and plug them into the onboard audio on by b350 tomahawk which uses Realtek® ALC892 Codec. While the audio sounds fine, the mic sounds horrific. My friends say I sound like I’m talking out of a fishbowl and I was getting a random high pitched noise but it has randomly gone away. I’m thinking of getting the Syba Sonic to remedy my mic issue and give me an increase in audio quality but I’m not sure if this would fix the issue. I am trying to solve this while spending the least money possible so I am open to any suggestions.

  • Is the issue present on front and back ports of your computer?
  • Have you tested on a different device (phone, laptop, etc.) to make sure the mic is not faulty?

Even cheaper than the Syba Sonic would be a dongle-DAC like the Creative Play 3, has the disadvantage of not giving you a volume knob.

I get the Issue on both the front and back ports and I’ve tested with different 3.5 jack splitters along with different devices like my phone but I still get the problem.
