JAY's audio memes (and reviews/ranking too I guess)

Que is a good set :+1:

The design and accessories are dope too, and not priced at $200 :joy:

Sivga Que run $62 on sale, which is pretty impressive.

Also finally got the E20 in my ear holes, and it is not a Deuce substitute. The bass wasn’t anywhere near as good, and it didn’t have the same impact. That said for the $45 I paid, it was a decent set.

Did you EQ the E20? I’m talking with EQ - Stock it’s a clean set with a scoop lol

This was a good one! This message should be repeated often, it’s easy for people to loose perspective… See it all the time w/ sources and cables. Other stuff is way more important, but so many get cought up spending more on dongles than thier iems :face_with_peeking_eye:

This is a fucking amazing video. It took me a long time to actually realize that tips are a must on the upgrade list. They are a massive game changer. One of many reasons why I manage to get the best out of my Davinci, Moondrops, and Deuce. Would love if you could suggest some nice foam tips.

I’m in love with the Dunu S&S tips. Perfect seal and deeper than normal insertion(just a little bit). Plus they’re comfy. But I feel like I’m missing out on the Velvets. But they’re like $17. Kinda steep for tips.

Yay or nay on the Velvet wide bore considering I have tips that work perfectly …

Out of all my wide bore tips, the Velvets do something different. Smoothing…is part of it. They do reduce punch a bit, this is very obvious on the Deuce for example, the edges of notes are slightly rounded, and the stage is plenty wide yet pushed back slightly. This can help some sets, I actually like this effect for my evening listening if I am going Deuce. Azla Crystals, are almost opposite …more punchy, closer to the music…by far, so far my fav tips out of many.

How does the azla tips fit on the deuce brother?

Quite snug, they go on a bit easier than come off.

Intresting, Sounds like the Azla might pair perfectly with the Deuce for a more punchy and engaging experience. Thanks for sharing!

I spent ~$300 to try 27 different types of eartips this year.
My favorite so far has been the basic cheap KZ replacement eartips.
I love how it smooths/tames the highs and makes vocals a focus.
More so than final audio type-e tips.

A close second world be the ddHifi ST35 D-tips, but those sound brighter, and possibly more comfortable, like spinfits.

Those were known as the budget Type E tips, but seems you like it more than the Type E lol.

Yup, type-Es didn’t remove a treble peak I was hearing in some of my IEMs but these KZs were the only eartips, that I could find, that did the trick :ok_hand: (without changing the sound for the worse).

If you want even more taming, try foam/silicone hybrid tips.

Yup looks like those, but the review pictures in that link strangely show different packaging than I’m used to (in a plastic case). The ones I got all came in looking like this.
