Hey there,
I’m looking to get either the JDS Stack or the Fiio 5k Pro for my Tygr 300r / HD 6xx combo.
The JDS Stack is probably going to cost me quite a bit extra since I live in Europe, however it might be worth it…
Cost would be:
JDS $210 + custom duty
Fiio 5k Pro $230
Suggestions / Advice would be greatly appreciated

Thinking about it what about a Shiit Stack (Shiit Modi 3 / Schiit Magni Heresy)?
Can’t say much about the units cause I haven’t heard them but think I also saw the JDS atom on amazon.de so no customs for you and you could purchase purely on sound quality 
Yeah just realized that too however they are CRAZY expansive on Amazon.de 
Converted to Euros the JDS Stack would cost me €180 but on amazon.de the stack would cost me €300.
That is definitely not okay… I’m not paying nearly double the price… I think ordering them from the US would be cheaper even with the customs included… Crazy how expansive they are on amazon.de + the JDS Atom isn’t even in stock.
Huh did remember them for around 110€ o.O
Well scrap that then otherwise the zen DAC is also decent but not Shure it has enough juice for 300ohm Sennheisers in SE
For those i could recommend something like the LP g103
Owned the K5 Pro. Sold it after a few weeks. The amp itself might be ok but the dac part of it lacked in detail and seperation. Never listened to any JDS product so can’t comment on that but I own an Asgard 3 from Schiit and really enjoy it’s sound signature. Very engaging and more on the warm side…
If the ATOM DAC is as good as the ATOM/ATOM+ amp, they are definitely worth the standard/MSRP price. The ATOM amp is great, as a pure volume boosting device with no coloration/effects to the sound. I haven’t owned the ATOM DAC, but I’d bet it’s also a winner.
Above the ATOM amp, I wouldn’t waste money on anything less than a Topping A30 Pro(for premium sound). So if you got the ATOM+ATOM, you could eventually replace/sell the amp with an A30 Pro - something that wouldn’t be ideal to do with the FiiO.
If it’s more affordable where you are, a Topping D10s would also be a great DAC option.

I am not sure what country you are in but here (in Spain), the general rule of thumb is to add around 40 to 50% of the cost of the product when importing from the US. It much depends on what shipping carrier is used but shipping is rather expensive at the moment.
My Asgard 3 ended up costing me 300€ when I finally got it from the US (direct from Schiit).
Basically, here is a quick rundown of a JDS Labs Atom Amp (you can choose the country you are in for more exact calculations on their site):
To this you need to add the 15€ fee that FedEx usually charge (as this shipment is with FedEx).
So it is around 155€ for the Atom amp to my door in Spain. Your country will vary slightly depending on the VAT in your country.
(For any warranty issues you will need to ship it back to the US)
