Just order Moondrop Starfield!

Hmm that could be it. However I still find it odd that I never had the problem and suddenly 3 times in a day where it would go to about 5-10% volume, not just a bit of an imbalance. Also it would probably take so much time to get these filters to where I live that my 30-day return policy has passed, so that’s a big gamble.

When it happened again I tried switching the 2-pins of the connector, but still the left piece worked fine and the right one didn’t, so it’s not the cable.

I have to say, these success stories about the Moondrops being better than the Tin T2’s have me itching to click the buy button…

I literally just got into this stuff this year, and the T2’s were my first buy… now I have a desktop DAC, a BT DAC on order, a pack of eartips for my T2’s, a balanced cable for them, and two sets of headphones.

I need to slow down, but I still want. so much want.

I’m in the same situation as you where I just started 3 months ago and already have way too much stuff. Two IEMs, two DAC/amps, two headphones and on on the way and a whole lot of other stuff like cables, tips and whatever.
I think the most important thing to do in the beginning is to not buy things that resemble each other, but really try different sound signatures etc.
To bring it back to the Starfields and the T2’s, I had to return my T2 because one earpiece broke and bought the Starfields to replace them, and I kinda think I preferred the sound of the T2’s. I haven’t had that, oh shit this sounds awesome, moment in any song with the Starfields yet. Mind you I think they sound good and the fit is, for me, 100 times better than the T2’s, but I’m not quite sure what the hype is about. Maybe I’m just not a Harman kinda guy…

As a Harman fan you really have to look for music that’s good with it why it’s not for everyone. Jazz , soundtracks and classical are for me generally good go to Harman and is kinda what the response was made for. I love Harman personally for hip hop which is what I mainly listen tk. The bass and shouty upper mids generally lend very well to the agression in the beats.

For hip hop I like them too. For classic rock and such not that much. I really love the sound of the T2 and FiiO FA1 for that type of music, but the T2’s fit is too bad and the FA1 does weird vacuum things to my left ear, so I only wear those for short periods. But yeah that’s why I think in the beginning of this hobby it’s best to buy a lot of stuff that’s not too expensive and has different tunings and stuff.

I agree. The Sony MH755 which are Harman curve tuned, make jazz, especially vocals, sound like real life so much, it is crazy. Soundtrack is also amazing, and I do love some good EDM or bass-heavy music on them. I think some forms of metal, hard rock, and metal core sound good, but they can get a little shouty with tracks that have a little more treble or sibilance already.

Yeah welcome aboard, I spent more than 1500$CAD in audio in the last 12 months. Okay, to be honest, I needed half of this for a home studio, but whatever. No regrets.

It was a typo :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, for the channel imbalance, and the replacement filters… I use comply foam tips. This might help some here (grey = part of the tips, so, “washable filters”). I don’t know if I’d try to completely remove the filters off the Starfields, but the grey part would surely protect the (Starfield) filters.

I think I am 8 months in and refuse to do the math. between headphones, daps, dacs I am afraid to know. Also, if hartaudio buys a beach house I will know I helped support that.

I keep looking at the Moondrops. Have never pulled the trigger. Maybe it is I am only an iem person because to much clamp gives me headaches. Also there is the fact I would like to buy other things. Lol. I enjoy the T2s too much to let them just sit.

A lot of consensus on these being a good candidate as a step up from Tin T2. The T2 is the only IEM I’ve ever owned, comparing the T2 to the Starfield is it a worthwhile jump or is there anything else in that realm that I should look into as a bigger jump. I’d be willing to spend $200 or so give or take.

The bass is much fuller based on my memory of the t2, the starfield is a mild v so it will be a more engaging listen and less analytical. For neutral sound ppl should be jumping up to something like the Ex800st. Its got flaws that take money to solve, but damn if I’m not full retard for the neutrality of these puppies

Edit: I forgot but the P1 is in the same vein as the t2 btw but needs A lot of power and potentially a bass eq depending on preference.
