Kefine Delci or Hexa

Hey everyone,

I posted about this on Head-fi but didn’t get much help. So I turn to this community!

It’s time for me to upgrade from my $18 Hola that’s a year old. While it sounds good I would like to go up a tier in sound quality. So I’ve narrowed it down to these two.

I like a warm signature so I’m thinking the Delci. But I keep reading or watching about the details that Hexa brings out. Delci is supposed to be detailed up on the top end as well, but warmer than the Hexa. And I’m not a bass head(I listen to jazz mostly) but I do enjoy it if it’s done right. And the Delci is supposed to have good bass. Hexa has less bass I guess. But that can always be eq’d.

And the Delci is $60 while the Hexa is $80. But if I wait until 11.11 I can get them even cheaper.

So is there anyone here that has both? Even if you don’t I’d still like to read your opinion.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I don’t have the Delci but I’ve heard the Hola and Hexa back-to-back and they definitely sound as the graphs would indicate that is to say that the Hola is much bassier and the Hexa is much brighter. So I guess if you don’t like the Hola’s bass and want something brighter then you’ll like the Hexa? Or if you just want something different? :person_shrugging:t2:

I’ve heard and it looks to be the case that the Delci is similar to the Hola but even bassiier but maybe someone who’s heard both back-to-back can chime in about that cause graphs don’t always show everything sometimes

Thank you for chiming and for the graph. I’m really liking how the Delci looks on the graph.

So I don’t know. If I wait for 11.11 I might be able to snag both pretty cheap. I remember seeing the Hexa last year for $60. I should have gotten them then but I bought a pair of Sennheisers instead. So maybe I’ll be able to grab both for a hundred. Considering I don’t buy iems often I won’t feel bad about getting two at once.

Thank yoiu again

Delci is a V-shaped party in your ears. Plenty of bass, with flabby sub-bass. Not very controlled. But upper mids are not poisoned by bass bleed. The overall sound signature is much warmer than the Hexa, yet there is surprising treble extension without sibilance.

Hexa will be much more neutral and analytical, with more clarity and air in the treble.

I think the Hexa is a better choice for jazz. The Delci is better for hip-hop, EDM and poorly recorded rock.

Ok. I was thinking both would be good for jazz but if the Hexa is more clear and detailed then I guess that’s what I need. I can always eq some bass if I need it.

I was checking out the Artti T10 as well. I’ve read it’s very good. I have the pr3. And after I eq the sibilance out then it’s absurdly good for $25. I mean the stage and separation is crazy. So I’d like more of that as well

Thanks for your post

The T10 is a phenomenal value for $51 as an entry-level planar. It doesn’t have much cold, planar timbre. It’s the IEM with the speed of a planar but the smoother signature of a DD or a DD hybrid.

If I was to choose between the Delci, Hexa or T10, I would choose the T10 all day, every day – for my favorite genres and yours.

The T10 is one of the true hidden gems under $100 in this hobby. Full stop.

Thank you. That’s what I was wanting to hear. Like a definite “pick this one”! Lol. Only thing I’m worried about is driving it. I’ve only got a cx31993 dongle right now. I may have to get a KA11 or something like that.

But I’m reading nothing but good things about the T10. How wide and deep the stage is. So I’m looking towards that.

Thanks again

Edit: I think my dongle puts out about 65mW. That should be enough to drive them pretty well until I get something else?

You only need 0.64vrms and 25mw to reach 90 db (+20db headroom), you dont need anything more.

CX31993 dongles have 1vrms at 32ohm. (or 32mw@32ohm) That 65mw rating is with 16ohm.

Riku! Thank you so much for that. You saved me about $30 for now.

I’ll have to keep the headphone calculator in mind the next time I get a low sensitivity bud or headphone. And I don’t ever get to 90 decibel I don’t think. I listen to music on pretty low volume.

Thanks again. Appreciate it

If you wanted to get something now, at $35 the TRN Conch is a slightly less refined Delci, but it includes tuning nozzles, (like the $89 Delci AE), to customize sound and has solid all metal build quality.

I’ve read about the Conch. They’re popular in the iem sub on Reddit.

Thanks for bringing it up but I think I’m gonna get the T10 way before 11.11. I can’t wait that long now. Lol

I’ve only heard good things about the t10, should serve you well, it’s affordable and competes well with planars costing twice as much.

That’s what I keep reading. What I’m reading alot is that is comparable to the s12. Which is a good iem to be compared to.

Only thing is that the T10 isn’t the prettiest. Lol. But they make up for it with a nice plush cable and a hard case. That I appreciate since it saves me money. I’m like a cable junkie. I don’t think they do anything to the sound, but I love how the big 8 and 16 core cables look and feel.

In your ears you only hear them, not see them lol.
If and when you decide to get pricier sets, looks seem to enter the equation, even though sound and comfort are vastly more important, purty ones are well, purty lol. Ooo shiney…

Ha. You’re right about that. I mean they’re not the ugliest, just kinda plain Jane. But like you said they’ll be in my ears.

Well I have some money in my budget now since I thought I would be spending $80 on the Hexa. So I have a little left over for a new shiny earbud. Not sure what to get in the $30 price range though.

Actually scratch that. I might just hold onto it and let it grow and hopefully get a DX7 on the cheap on 11.11. That’s what I’m really looking at for my next flat. I’d like to get a Yinman but not ready to buy a stack to push them. Looks like the DX7 will run on anything and are highly regarded.

That or finally get me a riku. I’ve been putting off getting one for the longest time now.

You’ll dig, dude. The Artti T10 is definitely the best value in my humble IEM collection, and I’m a cheap bastard constantly searching for models that punch above their weight.

Nope, the T10 isn’t the belle of the ball for looks. But it fits well and sounds GREAT – far more important parameters.

Yeah I’m a cheap bastard too. Always trying to sniff out or waiting for the right sale to buy, is my way. So I want to get the T10 right now for $53 but I always see it come down in price in a AliExpress sale… I should be able to get it for a little under $50 if I wait.

I have to agree. Build quality and looks aside, the T10 is actually a ridiculous value for SQ alone.

Thank you. It looks like I’m making the right decision then.
