After a little over a month of ownership and something approaching 100 hours of highly spirited listening, one particular spot of kick in Rezz’s new track Hysteria was producing a tiny bit of crackle in the right side.

Watched Zeos’ DIY fix instruction video again, grabbed my little iFixIt kit, and relaxed/retightened both sides; I did find that one corner screw was loose (ironically not on the side that was crackling) but doing both sides took all of 10 minutes and the sound is back to being absolutely pristine.

I suppose that some might argue headphones shouldn’t need to be fixed, but personally I value the ability to fix them, especially so simply, far more than I resent the need to fix them. Bottom line, if I need to do this every hundred hours or so of listening for the rest of my life then that’s just fine with me… they’re well worth it, in every possible way.

As a side note, I did try some Sony pads as mentioned earlier in this thread and yeah no, just a bit too big to securely fit. Could technically make them work, but a bit jank for my taste. On the upside, they ended up fitting my old Sennheisers perfectly, so no loss!
