I own and was just listening to the RP280-F with music earlier today. They are my main HT speakers and the ones i use when I’m listening to much of the modern genre’s off Tidal and i want the bass to really pump, the music to get loud and fill the house up with volume. I can coax them to play the more relaxed genre’s w/ EQ and i happen to have 3 Separate EQ settings, U, W and V shaped just depending on what’s on. I got mine on sale for $400 out-the-door a long while ago and am perfectly fine w/ them in my HT set-up.
Having said this, the RP600M is a superior speaker for music and works very well for HT use only, hands down IMO, the RP280-F is lively w/ a more club like sound signature that needs the midrange coaxed out and the bass brought under control for more classical sounds.
Mine have hundreds of hours on them, I LIKE the Klipsch sound, i don’t find it fatiguing or “shouty”, it’s just right for me (For certain music) this is personal Subjective opinion in sound…
There are some massive sales coming up on Klipsch, you should be able to do better in the US, i can’t speak for OCONUS.
Good luck, happy listening.
PS, don’t forget, we are talking about $500 speakers. They sound like $500 speakers, they do the job, and are often good enough. (My personal opinion)
