đŸ”¶ Koss KPH30 Wireless

Nice. That’s exactly what I wanted to hear! No pun intended haha

They do look a little silly though lol

Nah man that looks redonkulous in all the right ways. I’m all for it. I think you’ve convinced me to pull the plug and carbon copy your setup.

Question, did you leave the original pads on and finagle the Grado pads around them or take them off, because it’s just the driver housing without and mesh or foam if I take off the original pads.

I took the stock pads off, could cover it with foam or fabric if you wanted

I took off the stock pads as well. The Dekoni pads were a huge pain to get on, but after about ten minutes there was success. I find the sound is better with the driver being more exposed although with the depth I have to turn up the volume way higher due to the distance. But man were you right about the negligible weight differences and the comfort is unreal.

These look awesome guys, I’m going to give the hybrid pads a shot to see what they do. If nothing else it should provide some isolation at work.

I think they don’t really isolate because the sides are completely open

hybrids/leather might help a bit

Totally understand that, we will just call it an experiment lol

Yea they are still quite open. If anything, the velour pads give maybe
at best 5% more isolation. I have a feeling that the hybrids/ leather won’t do incredibly much more than another 5%, could be wrong, just basing it off of the design. I was hoping for a little more sound isolation being that they fully cover the ears but they are so light and comfortable I just don’t care.

I do think it will help the sound stay closer to stock, likely trap a bit more bass in

That’s usually my goal when I start pad rolling cans :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Well I finally got the grado pads in and it makes them super comfortable. Adding the space from your ear to driver definitely shows off the limitations of what the koss can actually do. Bass is impactful but there sub bass absolutely disappeared mids are pulled back ton and treble gets tinny sounding. Now the fix is pad break in, as soon as I squish my ears closer to the driver everything is fixed and it sounds like the kph30 should sound.
