yeah guess ill have to wait for a HDMI 2.1 one but again i can deal with optical out on a tv
I suspect 2.1 won’t be around / supported for some time. I’ve been selling this kinda gear for 13 years now
using my Google-fu, no HDMI 2.1 options came up…so you may just want to get one and live with it until 2.1 options do exist…unless you’re fine as you are until 2.1 is supported.
To be completely fair though it will be pretty rare ps4 will getr 120 hz @4k
If the TV is fully HDMI 2.1 compliant, there’s a good chance it will have an optical output. You can also output audio via HDMI using ARC on a different port. That way you should be able to use an older audio device while running the display over 2.1.
Looks like Canadians didn’t get fucked for this console launch xbox’xs after tax cost the same as converted usd to cad and ps4s are $30 more so before tax both consoles are cheaper in cad the us
PS5 still supports HDMI 2.1 tho, wont get 4k 120 but its there. Plus the TV will support 2.1 planning on getting a LG 55" CX so 4k 120hz hdmi 2.1 tv. To use as a do everything tv, pc, games movies, ect. And up worst comes to worst ill just use the TV’s optical. Cos im not getting rid of my AV anytime soon.
Hey guys when is the release date of the RTX 3070 again? was it October 8th? I just wanted to make sure since I have been planning buying a video card and I think I have made up my mind. Also is my 2600x enough to compensate the performance of my video card along with the 600W PSU I have? some inputs would be appreciated since the snob asswipes won’t even answer my question on a certain server. Thanks.
Most likely.
Assuming the 3070 draws the same power as a 2080ti, you are fine with 100W to spare.
well the 3070 according to some of the sites, it has 220w and also thanks for answering my question I just want to make sure. I mean I have been trying to get an answer about this for a while now yet those people cannot even bother just give me their time to answer it lol. Thanks for the help though.
220 to 260W is what I expect for the 3070, looking at the 3080 (wich beat AMDs Vega64 in stock power draw! What an achievement!)
It is man and they did a good job ngl. As much as I want to wait for AMD’s new cards, I just cannot take my eyes off on Nvidia’s 3000 series. I mean at that price that is affordable that is doubled the performance than the 2080Ti? How can I say no?
Same price as 20-series though…
But only in Quake RTX and some other game. All other games are 20 to 30%
One of these vids popped into my YT feed. Apparently you don’t need all that graphics horsepower, when a SIM looks more real than real life, you’ve jumped the shark.
Oh ok, damn welp I’ll see it for myself. If not I might have to wait again for AMD xD
I’m still hard debating with myself whether the 2070 is enough for future generation of games or should I just get the 3080 my instincts tell me 3070 now and 4080 or 5080 later during mid console generation. As new console generations tend to always bring with them a huge significant in technical demand. But I also wanna run 1440p 144 Hz cyberpunk which something tells me the 3070 might struggle with with nvdia hair works and rtx on
Following what Steve from GN commented in the 3080 review: “What settings do you have? Is your current system enough for you?”. I always try to keep this kind of thing in mind before this kind of purchase.
I for one prefer to wait for all cards being launched. The 30 series is very promising, but truth is I currently have a 1080p 60Hz monitor, so all this is mega overkill. I need all info in table to see a new monitor and a new GPU. But that’s my condition.
Answering @K4sh1ma, I guess is alright unless you’re into high refresh rate (144hz +). There are exceptions like Microsoft FS, but overall I think a 2600x is enough for the foreseeable future. (Again, if you don’t need all the frames).
I mean as long as I can run with a consistent FPS that is 60FPS or above, I am all good. Also I think it is just in time for me to get the high end card treatment.
FWIW I think the difference will be less significant in the step up to PS5, if they are pushing 4K, it won’t be a huge leap graphically, because the resolution change will eat a lot of the new performance.
Console GPU’s are usually less powerful (by a fair margin) than the PC equivalents, it’s just the nature of power and heat restrictions.
The big advantage consoles have is being able to optimize for the system as a whole, you know what sort of CPU and GPU you have so you have a lot more control over what bottlenecks where. And you don’t have to deal with min spec PC boxes (which is an enormous win).
I guess ray tracing might be something that becomes more common since the new Console GPU’s support it.
That 3080 launch was terrible. That is all. lol
