đŸ”¶ Letshuoer S12

My favorite is EJ07. Granted I haven’t heard the Conductor, 07M and 09. Other than that S12 becomes my favorite budget LETSHUOER product.

Try the micropore tape mode . For me it fixed everything

If you keep using the shuoer account at least your association is transparent, I guess, which would be preferable. Nothing personal btw.

Sounds like you guys focused customers orders before staff - albeit an important mouthpiece one!

I suppose, hundreds customers’ feedback is more valuable than a Shuoer rep hype your own product :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Agree S12 is such a solid set, esp with plenty power from a desktop DAC/Amp - although for me it’s still no near 07/07m

They cost from 600 to over 900 dollars. You really expect a 149 dollar planar to be better ?

“Podcast is bad because they tend to come right close to the mic for the proximity effect, and tss and pops can be further pronounced by the treble bump [of s12]”
very true i listen to conferences on bqeyz spring1 because the velevty warm mids of spring1 forgives a lot of poor and aggresive human voice recordings but s12 amplifies these scratchy sibilant ear piercing saturated recordings. is there some simple eq on s12 that prevents such behavior ?

For me S12 gets you 80% there. Immersion and natural timbre still not on par, but it’s a great bang for buck, that’s for sure.

Somebody woke up at Shuoer. I’ve ordered S12 on 27.01., today I got shipping notification.

I ordered on January 23. The Nebula Grey w/ 3.5 mm has been in backorder for awhile. The struggle is real.

No worries, I could have bought the Frosted Silver if I was in more of a hurry. Looking forward to the S12. Update: Shipped!

Yeah, I went with the silver because I didn’t want to wait, and I am really happy with it. I view it as slightly brighter version of the 7Hz Timeless, but with a nicer price tag and resolution. I like both sets, and think the S12 is an easy recommendation.

I have been experimenting with a 6db low shelf starting around 166hz ( Q 0.4 on APO ).

This really changed my view of them for classic rock. It adds a bit of the slam back in that is missing at times, and still leaves the mids and highs where they are for that solid imaging and resolution.

Packet has arrived home. Not bad for the speed of delivery, if not for the long wait for the shipping.

S12 came with 3 type of tips. Very nice! I used the foamies, as I guess they are presented as standard. Did someone made measurements with the 3 tip types? What are your experiences with different packaged tips?

Received.

I am immediately happy with the resolving power: like the sound is diamond cut without pushing the upper mids too high–my ears are happy–the treble range is extended and raised so it can add a feeling of little specks of glass shards next to all the diamond edges: anything with old microphone static that simulated or otherwise would be like putting your ear next to an old CRT television as there is no natural fuzz (at least while listening to Typewrite Lesson ~Cornelius) it is straight up sizzle or hiss. I liked everything else I have listened to for the time being (Tanz Mit Mir ~Datassette, Yoda’s Theme ~Berliner Philharmoniker). The included cable is gorgeous, thicc, and has a nice flush fit with the S12 IEMs so I don’t see any red on the right plug.

The DT02 works on my phone as well as my LG V20 (that I use as a DAP), and seems to have plenty of power for the S12. I am looking forward to receiving a balanced cable as well to test out the 2.5 mm balanced on the DT02 and see how well the CS43131 is perceptively implemented. I considered the DT02 a minor gamble because LetShuoer hardly lists any information, but it, at the very least, seems better than an Apple Dongle  (although drains power more than the Apple Dongle) and appears better than the V20 DAC normal mode (0.5V_RMS).

The LetShuoer S12 fits my ears really well, which is a lucky unexpected bonus, consider me a superfan now.

—Update—
I have been getting weird random small pops on the DT02. Verified that it happens on computer as well.

Now that I hear the pops, it is all that I hear. Poly Rhythm Slowly Sped up Become Perfect 5th Music Interval - YouTube

Nevermind on Windows, the DT02 didn’t not initialize nicely, turned down the sample rate and bit depth, so no more pops or clicks (yes, I am an idiot). On the plus side, I figured out my system latency is not an issue. I still don’t know why the pops happened, e.g. if the buffer is too low for the generic driver that is used.

Still have to figure out what is causing the clicking and popping on Android. Hiby Music Player (Free) with Exclusive HQ USB audio access does not seem to have any pops or clicks. There are still clicks on switching songs. So it would seem that an app with exclusion mode is necessary to avoid the random pops while playing tracks. My AAL collection plays great on Hiby app with S12 and DT02.

From my understanding, it must be the buffer limiting playback rates, I don’t think LetShuoer is going to release a driver. I think I need to venture down the ASIO rabbit hole to see if I can get higher rates than 44.1 KHz without clicks and pops.

Did you try the Timeless?

No I haven’t tried the 7Hz Timeless, but I strongly considered it before it shot up $50 more from hype.

The S12 had three things that I wanted:

  1. A 2-Pin connector (and a rather nice looking cable) instead of MMCX.
  2. IEM shells that wouldn’t attract as much attention as the 7Hz Timeless (I am not into ear gauge looking IEMs even though I think it is cool that they look like records).
  3. A cheaper price for a planar that is close enough to the 7Hz Timeless.
