LG V20 vs DAP's

I still have this phone. ive had it for a while. Just saw a post where someone decided to buy this over a DAP. Ive often wondered about DAP’s. I hear they got great DACS and Amps in them. But i was surprised to look at the listings on ebay and find the LG V20’s are selling for around 30$ used. I still do everything on my v20 including playing pretty demanding games. It still performs fine. Can a DAP really compete with this?

I think a dap can compete but in the higher price brackets is the thing, I think the v20 is a better value over the budget daps, but when you get into the 400-500 ish ranges for a dap is where I think they really show they are higher preforming sound wise

Or you could grab a portable dac/amp and strap it to the phone

My biggest(only) problem with the V20 is the screen… FREKING FRAGILE

Never had a problem with mine. have had it for a number of years now

Both of the ones I’ve had, dropped it on accident ONCE, and the screen shattered.

Did you have a bumper cover on it?

First one the case was on order, and was supposed to arrive the next day… I was pretty pissed. The other one, the phone was about to be deactivated anyways(the next day… again), and was gonna be swapping to something else, and didn’t have one. Then I dropped it. On an already pretty irritating day.

The LGV20 sounds amazing for the price (paid 90 for mine). Only thing I would complain about is the battery life. It’s not particularly bad for 2016 but compared to newer phones it just drains so quickly. I do like the replaceable battery but I would rather just have a bigger battery that lasts longer. The Redmi Note 8 Pro lasts longer than 2 LGV20 batteries and then some. It’s also a bit slow but now I’m just being picky cause it goes for so cheap that it’s definitely worth the price. It sounds so good that I can definitely see it being used sorely as a DAP. Since I’m using it as a daily driver phone I’ll look into the newer models V30/40/50 just in case they fixed my concerns and keep the great sound.

Yeah i had to replace the battery. but its easy to do. just pop the back off and replace. 20$ for a battery. i’m thinking of doing it again. I put a power bear 3200 mah on it. but now they have much higher ones. i saw a 6800 mah for 27$

Should make the phone thicker but in exchange for a longer battery life why not

Thicc boi!

That’s what I use on mine.

Welp, thanks for the recommendations. I didn’t think of just fitting a bigger battery inside  Just ordered the 4380 mah cause the 10k was too thicc.
