some Tom Waits on the last leg of home office friday… just a couple of hours left, so a bit of music to help the time pass…
Spotify > modi3 > denon PMA-600NE > Bowers & Wilkins 685 s2
I got new pads for my Drop Edition XX’s and decided to plug them in and started comparing to LCD-2 Classic’s. It was back and forth and so I decided to concentrate on the XX’s since I hadn’t heard them in so long. Very interesting and I decided to roll into Dave Matthews Band. I have 62 songs.
I have complained before that these lack clarity, but that’s not it. Everything sounds recessed. Crank up the volume and it comes more into focus. Everything sounds wider and deeper. I am not a fan of listening really loud but I may have to keep these.
PS: I wondered if it was just a case of jacking the music with a buzz, which many of us are guilty of. Turns out no. My decible meter read max’s of 71 Db’s and mostly in the mid to high 60’s. I am proud of myself for behaving. I seem to have a built-in sound governor.
Right on! That’s a Funky Friday tune fo shoa!
