I freakin love Presence, I blast Achilles Last Stand and Tea for One whenever I’m lost

Why be so political about demanding musicians play for you only what you want them to play? If you don’t like the message of someone’s music you’re welcome to stop listening to it. Music is inherently political and is so much richer from people making their music with that in mind.

I never said you shouldn’t be able to respond. I’m just questioning your demand for musicians to stay away from politics.
Music has always been political. Just as art has always been political. Through virtue of the fact that what we do as humans is political so too is the music that we create political. You are just being particular about which politics you prefer to listen to and have a strange demand that musicians stay away from certain other politics.
I get that the more blatant political messages take you out of the music, which is fair, but calling for musicians to “keep politics out of your music. just shut up and play” kind of rubs against the whole point of music, which is of course to express ourselves. We are not entitled to how people write their music.
You want to avoid certain political messages or too strong of political messages in your music, so avoid it. Criticize their message, if you’re moved to. As you pointed out about your freedom to speech so too do musicians have the same right.
I’ll leave the conversation there so as not to detract from the topic at hand.
I stand by my statements but will delete the posts as, upon further reflection, the comments should probably be in another section of the forum.
It’s Saturday here in Australia
But last night I listened to Simone Simons (Epica) solo album Vermillion, with assistance from Ayreon. Quite good!
It’s Friday!!
Gonna slide into the evening with an old favorite that I haven’t heard in quite a while.
And away we go! Enjoy the night, all…
EDIT: I tried listening to the speakers with the grills on for the first time. They stayed on for about 1.5 tracks!
After enjoying “Peter Frampton Acoustic classics” it was only a matter of time before I took out this one.
Frampton and the “Comes Alive” tour was my first live show. 15 years old, Day on the Green 2 1976, Oakland Coliseum, we rode in with him 2 limos back and got to enjoy the show from backstage.
UFO also played and opened the show. Carlos Santana was the surprise special guest. I think I told y’all this story. To this day I am blown away by how nice he was - hell, how nice they all were. What a day. This album takes me back…
One more before I call it a night and another old favorite. This is Heart and “Little Queen”.
