Winter '88, windows down, heater blasting, crystal clear skies, fresh snow, well below freezing, headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon - where Ted Bundy did some of his dirty deeds…for a day of skiing at the Bird
Check out the opening bass lines in the last song here called Strid from 0:05 seconds on… The individual windings on the stand up bass strings vibrate on the fret board in such a cool viceral way… The 3 - 12" sealed SVS subwoofers in my room vibrate my bones during this part of the song… Moving, to say the least…
I bought a lot of Windam Hill records in my youth and Shadowfax was one of my favorite acts…It still sound good to my ears today…
I saw Shadowfax in '85 at Humphrey’s San Diego. Great show.
I had the pleasure of seeing Lou Reed in Manhattan in '88 but this is still one of my favorites
One of the best live albums I have heard. This was my first Rush show. Not this particular show, the 2112 tour! It was at Winterland in San Francisco. What a venue. It’s not there anymore. Ted Nugent opened! Great night, man, I was just a kid and was blown away. I ended up seeing Rush 19 times after that over the years.
Dinner and some quality time with my bride, and I’m back at it. Croz was tastin pretty good, so I am gonna continue that groove.
I have the 660S / LP pair in play this evening. the 660 really sings on this amp.
I saw them 5-6 times. Best was the Irvine Amphitheater. Also, no longer there. Worst was the Sports Arena San Diego (Echo arena!)
I’m listening to this right now. As usual, Sir, you are correct. I am enjoying this very much. This is a beautifully done album. Thanks for sharing.
