Listening to tonight (Part 2)

staying with Classical for now, I have found one that is hitting the spot.

Unexpected that tonight would end up being classical night. I’m glad - it’s been a minute… :notes:

That was nice. Took a quick break, got my head right, poured another glass of wine, and here we go with something new. New Pattern-Seeking Animals? Why yes, please.

I think they killed a lot of the ‘magic’ with all of the remastering of this one. I think I have a vinyl rip that has a suggestion of it but the original CD was pretty good too.

Totally get that! Remasters can sometimes overdo it and lose the charm. Vinyl rips do have a way of capturing that raw vibe, though. The original CD definitely has its own magic too, hard to beat that!

I have this version from 1990 on CD and DVD-A from date 2007, no LP rip.

I find it oddly strange to read about all the versions. Here’s info from Steve Hoffman who worked on the original - https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/fleetwood-mac-rumours-wb-1980s-target-cd-still-the-best-way-to-hear-the-album-on-a-commercial-cd.1172543/

Nice! That 1990 CD version must be a solid listen. It’s always fascinating (and a little overwhelming) to dig into all the different releases and remasters. Appreciate the links—always cool to get insights straight from the source! Which version do you find yourself going back to the most?

For sure the 1990 version. Yeah, there’s like 300 total mastering and mostly pressings of that album around the globe

It’s a Beautiful Life

Studio album by Freebass

It’s a Beautiful Life is the only studio album by English supergroup Freebass, featuring bassists Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), Gary Mounfield (The Stone Roses), Andy Rourke (The Smiths) and vocalist Gary Briggs (Haven). It was released on 20 September 2010 through Hook’s Haçienda Records label. The band broke up before the album’s release.[1]

Nice one. Guitar that comes in about 2 mins in is heavy man. I can hear multiple influences…
