Listening to tonight (Part 2)

Happy Friday from, Bangkok Thailand!!

The Holy Grail of Led Zeppelin IV - 200g 12" 45rpm - I don’t have the LPs but I do have a most excellent rip. Prices are insane.

The digital glare is absent and the bass actually has some weight in the mix

I have a bunch of LP rips from a buddy…his offsite backup location

As a kid I used to laugh at my older brother watching him toil and fret over his vinyl collection. He would come home with a new album, very carefully take it out and play it only once, recording it onto reel-to-reel. Smart, actually!

I have always thought vinyl is cool, but I don’t have any. Never will. I don’t have the space! Nope, I’m a CD kid. But, that’s just me. Hell, I was very late to the party in terms of streaming, but now that seems to be the default method for how I get my music. I just bought 3 hybrid CDs today to backfill some the ones Iost over the years.

AND a happy Friday to all! Been a little chaotic at work, so it’s nice to be in session. Starting out with some guitar.

Saw him and Andy McKee do a show in 2016. It was a nice intimate venue, the Livermore Arts Center I believe it was, and they did a meet and greet after. Very cool Gentlemen, they were. Great night. :+1:t2: :notes:

For me it was my older sister. The moment I could afford to buy a Sony Walkman cassette player I did. I wanted to be outside doing things not stuck inside next to the record player.

I’ve never had any vinyl either. Space and moving/transport is the issue. I’ve given away the vast majority of my CDs over the decades but kept a few sentimental or now rare ones.

I enjoy two things lately, ultra random play me something I didn’t know I had like some of the LP rips or curated stations like Radio Paradise…with Qobuz to listen to the album if I get distracted.

These days being retired I listen to 6-8 hours everyday. Keeps me sane. I freely move between the Roon>HQPlayer speaker system to the iBasso DX180 and full size HP or IEMs. I couldn’t be happier with the DX180. Ergos and weight are perfect for my wants.

A bit of a departure from my usual “electronic” postings, this is “Spiral Deluxe”, they are an electronic/jazz/funk 4 piece created by Jeff Mills (techno/music fusion maestro)

Who are spiral deluxe?

Is it Friday yet? :exploding_head: It’s been madness, MADNESS I tell ya! But it’s over now. Got a Voodoo Ranger in a frosty glass and the session is on. To commemorate the chaos, I’m spinnin this one.

Enjoy the night, folks. :notes:

Nice @Dobbs ! I’m on an interesting groove as well. Gonna keep it going with a little Miles

Not one in the vast catalog that you would think of first, I know. But I like it!
