“A reformatted version of the revered 1991 box set CSN, this four disc package includes sublime material from both the individual band members and them as a group. Featuring demos, outtakes, studio and live versions, CSN provides a comprehensive and illuminating history of the band’s work. Highlights include exquisite versions of CSN classics such as ‘Suite: Judy Blues Eyes’ and ‘Woodstock’, and a cover of The Beatles’ ‘Blackbird’. This smartly packaged reformat includes all the original audio content from the 1991 version, and is a neat way to own this incredible compendium of work from some of the most legendary songwriters of our time.”
" Lee said of the album: “I think I backed into this project. I’ve never had a great desire to make an individual statement, and I certainly didn’t want any more attention. I satisfy so much of my musical self in the context of Rush, so I don’t have any great frustrations from that point of view. But once in a while, you’d wonder, 'What’s it like out there? What’s it like to work with other people?”
After a fun day of Major League Baseball (The Giants played a solid game and picked up a win) and stereo play, it’s time to have a session. Enjoyed The Pineapple Thief last night so I’m spinning one from the collection. This is “Dissolution”.
Bandcamp - forgot I was listening to the same band, debut album…a journey.
A good song is like a ticket through the universe. Destinations being actual real locations, some from of utopia, even imaginary planets or a dusty chamber of your brain, it can be a different era or anything in between. TIKHET, the duo consisting of producer Sepalot and singer/songwriter Angela Aux, have a whole album’s worth of such travel tickets at the ready. Or, even better: TIKHET is music-turned-ticket to an imaginary dream world: near, far, with a surreal twist, colourful, vintage-esque and futuristic. The duo’s debut album- “mixtape suite” - creates this utopia using an array of varying pieces from a wide range of musical eras. “mixtape suite” is the (symbiosis) musical child of two music obsessives and their artistic influences, weaving a tapestry of contrasts: drifting, floating, braking, crawling and fluttering. This album builds bridges while maintaining a sort of never losing its composure. It’s a charming ode to frankness/openness and music nerdism.
Each of the ten tracks on “mixtape suite” is likely to evoke such absurd associations in music lovers. The album authentically and unpredictably creates a feeling of total boundlessness with a global approach. Effortlessly uniting an entire record shop within itself. One time you think of Madlib or the Bee Gees, then of… more
It’s been years, maybe decades, since I’ve paid much attention to Guttenberg but this came across my YT main page.
I very much enjoyed her impressions of this horn speaker. 22 year old with 1 year of music engineering experience or at least school but not one to know or use ‘audiophile’ descriptors.
Dude is packed with talent. Hope you feel better soon.
I’m enjoying the first few hours with BGVP NS10 Pro - a DD, a planar and 8 BAs walk into a bar… The BAs definitely get a bit rowdy but they may mellow and for the right music that do it nice
